Took a 120 evening ride then am grabbing grub with a few guys at the moment at Rad's. Great damn ride, but I have three pounds of insect wildlife on my visor...

A guy in my office has been raving about the Shake Shack in Dupont.  I need to run up there - maybe lunch today ;D

Nice.  How does it compare to Ray's or Five Guys?  I still gotta make it out there.

Shake Shack is the world of burgers is a probably the 2nd best place in the city behind Five Guys. Rays Burger is in a class by itself.  Everything about it is great.  The fries leave you wanting.

Colleagues and I decided if Shake Shack, Five Guys and Good Stuff were all on the same block it would the trifecta.  Burger from Shake Shack, fries from Five Guys and a shake from Good Stuff.

What about elevation?

Shake shack burgers didn't do much for me. Not bad at all, but I'd take others over them
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

I'll have to give it a shot for sure then:)  Another great burger in the city is found at the Palm - yes the pretentious, fancy dining place.  Its not even horribly expensive at about $15 (including a ton of decent fries) - I prefer it to Morton's burgers. Its a huge stake-house style burger.

I wasn' that impressed by Elevation.....good...but it didn't blow my doors off in a wowzers fashion...of course that could be because I was prepped as it being the awesomest burger ever (by a 12 y.o. girl)and felt a little let down...generally speaking though, I'd rather no expectation and be blown away, than to go into an awesome burger joint and be let down...

Pilot, we're going to have to hang sometime soon as I am a self prescribed BURGER lover.  The Morton's and Palm burger are in the same category with Ray's.  They're big, come with a ton or options and are typically made with Kobe or some other high end beer.  If you like the Palm and Morton's, give Central a try.  Burger is very good.

Elevation didn't do it for me either.  I think it's their lack of choices.  Love the healthy kick they're on but no CHEESE is an issue for me. What burger joint doesn't offer cheese?

A Team Quick Burger Joints
1. Five Guys
2. Shake Shack
3. Ted's Bulletin/Good Stuff

The lot of the rest include, Zee Burgers, Elevation, etc. etc....

Has anyone tried BGR? There's one in Dupont and another in Clarendon (that I'm aware of).

dolci and I have gone to the one in Bethesda...AWESOME SHAKES!, fries are pretty decent, AND THE BURGERS...well...some of their flavors are good and some seem to be a bit weird...but usually they have a special burger of the month which is unusual and kicks-ass....

Definitely MadDuc 20/20, I haven't tried Rays or Central yet and I love burgers.  At fancy law firm lunches at the Palm I always order a burger - I'm classy like that  :P

I've asked bartenders in absolute dive bars for a goblet with a can of Natty Boh before just to see their reaction.
