Took a spinning class this morning. Legs are sore, definitely a good workout, but as a former mountain bike racer (yes, before I was fat I was fit) it was kinda boring. Kinda like comparing a good hike to a stairmaster... Oh well, I'm at least feeling good I was active at 6 am.

which school and track and will you be using your bike or theirs?

2-day camp at CA Superbike School. Dolph I was planning to do it at VIR in August, but they had a spot open up at Miller Motorsports Park next Wed and Thurs. Frequent flyer miles will cover the flight and I get a discount on the class to boot. Obviously I'll be using their bike and gear, which comes free with the 2-day camp. I think in the spring, I'll sign up for level 3 with my bike closer to home.

I think this can be considered the ultimate fly and ride of my life. I should note that this news resulted in Ben calling me a "Bastard!" and Lars calling me an "Ass hole!" laughingdp

Led Jdan and Gnarlycharlie (a harwood virgin) on the first half of a bowie run. Gnarlycharlie: "Man, those are some good roads!"

I'd fly out a day early if I was you.  That way you won't have to worry about any issues cropping up that will lead to you not getting enough rest before the first session.

Thought about that...and earlier in the day. Blackout dates and $700 fares make that a little undesirable.

I got a few pool laps in at Globo-Gym... errr Lifetime Fitness. I figured Massimo gets far too many fat jokes in on me, so it's time to get back to my fighting weight.

And by fighting weight I mean getting enough exercise that I can eat as much bacon and drink as much beer as I want without stretching out my leathers.

Want some of my workout notes? Lower weights (lest my joins suffer too much) but if you try hard might be good for a puke or two early on. Smiley

Zoom, what sort of frustrations?  The Gran Canyon has always interested me.

right now I have a few problems with it I am sorting...

1) electrical charging gremlin which I think is the wiring from the regulator/rectifier and the stator which is famous for cooking....I just haven't had the time to sit down with my multimeter and fully diag it...and then source parts necessary which is yet another waiting game...

2) the speedo isn't working right now, and I think it might be the inner drive cable, but am not 100% solid on that as I pulled it all apart and have inspected it and it all looks okay, but I suspect on some level the bevel drive gear on the front axle might be done as well....I was going to go to NAPA and get a universal square inner cable and trim it to fit and see if that fixes it, but haven't had time to go to NAPA....otherwise I fear having to try and scour to find the correct drive somewhere on the intarwebs due to spacing...and I hope apon hopes it isn't the speedo head itself as I hate changing speedo heads for a non origional on a general level....

3) I need to get a new latch assembly for the topcase, which because it is Nonfango and not mainstream, it is not inexpensive and am not inclined to spend the $125 right now to special order those parts from Ducati at this particular moment....call it me being cheap or something...

4) I want and can actually almost say I need new tires...they are ridable for the rest of the season probably/maybe, but I vascelate on what kind and all that and remember that I have to get tubes also...more money to spend...

5) I fractured one of the CPC fuel quick disconnects on the left tank and ended up breaking the rest of it out due to a leak and putting in a fixed non quick disconnect replacement ala Lowes and haven't sourced a proper replacement yet and it just kind of bugs the shit out of me generally speaking....

6) I suspect based on steering feel that my steering head bearings have about had it...yet more work and money...

all this adds up to a bike I have as my primary and only street bike which needs a lot of love and $$$ and time that I just currently don't really have and I am missing great riding season time...so I am frustrated on multiple levels...and while I love the bike....I am just in that funk of an attitude thinking about how not smart it is to have a 12 y.o. non-mainstream odd bike for my only streetbike....
