Lowside on the Aprilia last night...Through a sweeping right hander, debris in road and slid out from under me at about 55 mph.  Broken rear brake lever and rearset, slider and swingarm spool saved the bike.  My gloves saved my hands, shredded the arms and scarred the back on my leather jacket, ripped the toe on my A-Stars boots, and shredded my brand new textile pants I bought Friday.  I am bruised up, but so scratches or anything on me....thank god for decent gear that worked.

Holy crap!!! Glad to hear you're OK!

Glad to hear you're ok man.  Yesterday seems to be the day for accidents.

Got into one myself yesterday with a BMW on Capitol Hill.  Blindly made a left hand turn as I was traveling straight at the intersection of Maryland Ave. and 12th St. NE.  Didn't feel like waiting for the box truck that was @ the light making a left to wait.  Just decided to go and there I was.  Nothing to do but grab a handful of brake and try to slow her down.  Launched me in the air and I landed on the trunk.  Stupid cager driver kept saying everything can be replaced.  If he had just waited until that box truck moved he would have seen me.  3 minutes almost cost me my life.

Feel like shit and sore as a mofo but other than a what seem to be sore tendons in my left hand, recovering.  Definitely kissed my gear on the way to the hospital...

Hope to be back riding soon!  Time to look for another Monster (frame has structural damage) on the top tube as both the lower and upper triple is done as well as the forks.

Gotta find a way to remove the Penske rear shock before the Insurance company moves her!

Bummer! But glad both you guys are mostly ok. Keep up with the docs - that left turning cager is liable for your med bills 20/20 if found at fault

Re your shock - if you have receipts for it and full coverage  your insurance should cover it.

I bought it from BadGalBetty, so I may have to find the receipt.

left turn cager was found at fault and issued a ticket for failure to yield right of way.

Just sucks to have to go through the entire insurance process and be down for the riding count for a bit.

Gene's bike looks so tempting but I don't have 9K to spend on it

Holy Shit! You too?!? Glad you're OK! I've got a shiny silver S2R1K that I might be convinced to sell at some point...as long as I don't get evicted for not owning a monster any more. Grin

Glad to everyone is doing ok after their aw shits and hope to see you guys out and riding again soon.

CAM at it's finest....Well you know I want that bike, especially with that exhaust.  Since me and the asshat in the BMW are both State Farm customers hopefully this thing will be wrapped up in 30 days.

Sending you a PM....
