I've got new tires that need the little rubber hairs ridden off of them.

They're called Chicken Strips.

Chicken Strips are what's left of the mold-release compound after you've scrubbed it off the center area of the tire, as seen in the picture below:



I suppose if the hairs are left only on the chicken strips that one could call them feathers.

It does look warmer tomorrow.  I'm trying to get a few other SD guys to come out and meet us on Sunday, so I am kind of committed to that plan.  One way or the other though, I'm also taking the Seven back out this weekend as well.

Ahhhhhhh ... All these years we were calling the "hairs" the chicken strips.  Probably caused a few crashes over the years giving people a hard time about those.  I kinda feel bad about it now.

I suppose this may be the reason why some people still swerve back and forth because we were always told there is no good purpose for that on modern tires.
