Last night was my first ride since my Free Day Low Side - at least that's what I'm calling it.

I'm a B student in a lot of things - motorcycle maintenance being one of them.  My example - I do the right thing by cleaning my chain and sprockets and waxing the chain.  That worked OK - but when I was riding, I had the scare of the night by seeing smoke - in large quantities - coming up from under the bike.

Guess who wasn't the most accurate with the chain cleaner aerosol can Tongue  Got it all over the pipes.  Smoked like a MOFO for about 5 minutes, then all is good.

Still need to replace the broken Lambda Sensor, but it's in transit.

So, you're asking, how did the little blast around lower Manhattan go?  Well, as I got more comfortable, I started  to relax a little, but I really need some more practice to rebuild my confidence.

However...

In a straight line, I was fine. [moto]

My highlight of the night?

Drag racing a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale up 6th Avenue... and winning.  As I turned on 14th I laughed in my helmet for the first time in MONTHS; "I am a child"  laughingdp laughingdp

[car rant]  Toolbox in the Ferrari had all his go-fast racing stickers, he was a fat, grey haired guy in his 60's, and had NO idea how to use the gearbox.  Pathetic.  Wouldn't even respond to a bad-ass hooligan on a Ducati giving him the Thumbs-Up.  Douche... [/car rant]

Just want to bang out a quick oil change.  There a little leak around the filter, and I'd much rather do it all over again than trust that someone else did it right!  Should be ready for Sunday!

When can I ask about getting my own cool Usual Suspects avatar?   popcorn

You mean you haven't laughed inside your helmet when out with US?

Oh hell yes - Peekamoose FTW!

I should have said I hadn't laughed while riding since before I crashed.

Good to hear you are back on the road, Tom, AKA Farrari Killer Grin  My solution to no chain lube on the pipe is cover it.
