Ok guys, starting a new thread on this topic in hopes of keeping it on track.  I am also posting something up on Ducati.ms as well in hopes to getting a broader audience.  So far it seems that we might be better off having a rotating meet spot due to so many people living in opposing areas.  So with that in mind, discuss.

Possibly do this suggestion?

There is a very authentic cafe on Lee Highway, next door is a restaurant owned by the same (VERY Italian) fellow

Restaurant

Cafe/Market:
http://www.sfizi.com/

Dolci is a very nice sit-down restaurant and Sfizi is smallish.

Anyone interested?  would be like a tuesday or wednesday night.  ride your bike in and show off.

Ok, Tuesday works best for me, but I can most likely flex my schedule to accommodate.  Now we just have to get buy in from a few others and start deciding on where to go.  What part of town are you in?

I'm in as well. I like the idea of a rotating spot instead of going to the same place over and over again.

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Well, from what people have posted so far, Tuesday looks like the best day to try and plan this.  Neither of my bikes are here yet, so I will be caging it for at least another week or so.  Now how about place suggestions?  I am relatively new here, and the few places that I know of would be in Shirlington or up at Rhodeside.  I know neither of these places really offer much towards the desired variety of location, but it's a start.  Also, tomorrow is a bit soon to try and organize it, so what say we start off aiming for Capital Brewery in Shirlington for next Tuesday, the 22nd?  What say ye?

Cool.  I'll call and make a reservation as we get a bit closer, and start to get an idea of how many people will show up.

Cap City might work.

Rhodeside has a good location and cheap beer most nights, but we really need to change it up. I say pass.

I've been liking Rockland's (BBQ) lately. They've got a patio (kinda) + decent parking for bikes. Good food and ambience too.

There seems to be a ton of options along Lee Hwy. Some with little/no parking, and some with great parking. I could go scout this week.

There are some options in DC, too. Adams Morgan. If we can stand the scene. Some hidden gems near the Capitol.

I don't know Alexandria very well, but imagine there are spots.

Just gotta keep traffic in mind since we meet at the tail end of rush hour.

No worries.  So let's do Capital City this first time, then shift it for the next and following.  I'll leave it to you to nail down the next location. Wink

We have done Southside 815 in Alexandria a long while back. It's at the bottom of S Washington. We managed to snag parking out front... but it might have just been fortune smiling upon us.

You'll see lots of bikes (mostly HD) gathered at the end of King (by Union) though there's no real outside places there. Lots of times you see the owners of the bikes just standing around them.

There's usually some cool bikes gathered on weekend mornings at Mishas coffee for a little chatting and tire kicking on weekend mornings... but that's a different set. And perhaps a different topic but we could look at a little cafe society meet up on weekends too...

That would be cool, and could be incorporated with weekend ride-outs.  But let's start a new thread for that.   waytogo
