304.8mm to be precise.

Both of 'em.
I see what you did there. ;D

Now Im wondering if you fill the moat with water, and have a motorboat in there. . .

if the water circulates proportionally to the boats prop speed. . .

will the boat take off?

I say it won't move.

Discuss.

if the water circulated proportionately to the prop speed the boat would very definitely take off...backwards

The boat would remain in place in the same way one runs on a treadmill.  If the prop were to decrease speed negative thrust would be induced and the current would start to take you. (vice-versa for increase in speed)

Now if the boat had a jet engine mounted above the water providing the thrust, it takes off no matter what.

the barbs...they are sharp

it would remain in place if the water rotated proportionately to the Boat's speed not the Prop's speed

I need to correct myself here.

The prop would have to provide an amount of thrust equal to the resistance of the hull at any given water speed for the boat to remain still.

dude, you're going about this all wrong.  just pipe your sewage out there and it'll keep the riff-raff out.  that takes care of the cost-prohibitive issue.  plus with a baby on the way you won't have to worry about supply.

either that or snakes.  lots and lots of snakes.  like in temple of doom.

that or snakes.  lots and lots of snakes.  like in temple of doom.

Speaking of NJ..... local Sussex County legend has it that back in the early 20th century Colonel Kuser (the builder of Highpoint State Park and the Veterans monument in the northwest corner of NJ)

hired the locals to gather thousands of snakes in preparation for an inspection visit from his wife from their main home down south in Bernardsville NJ.

Rumor was that he had a "thing on the side" going on up there.... and his wife was wondering why the project was taking years...

she had a severe phobia about snakes (which could explain him needing to get a side thing going)

and he wanted to make sure she only came there once...well it seems the locals outdid themselves in the task to keep their employment going at the park/monument

and they made sure the place was indeed awash in every possible type of indigenous snake...

The Colonel's wife never got out of her car....the Colonel had the locals put on a display of capturing and removing the snakes they had seeded the property with in front of her...upon seeing this she responded accordingly with horror and terror and did not stay......

and never returned....and the veterans of NJ have a beautiful stone obelisk as a result....commemorating their service and sacrifice....and the Colonel's needs

This is an insult to the Pez community
