so im assuming dp spec ecu means Ducati Performance, what are the advantages of the dp ecu re-flash and do i need to do this to run just slip-ons, oh and whats with the [bacon] ? im new to the ducati scene.

You don't need to reflash the ECU to run slipons, no. If you were to later on down the road get a freeflow or chopped airbox like a K&N or DP or BMC, yes.

the DP ECU/ reflash will eliminate the 02 sensor/s if you have one and also the immobilizer (if requested)
The bike will run at bit richer across the rev range but this is needed if you decide to open the air box and have a free flowing exhaust.
It also does away with the low down rev surging on some models.
Not needed for just slip-ons.

Mine is a   07 S2R1000

But DP ECUs for M696 and M1100 retain the 02 sensors input..... I think that's the point Raux is alluding to

I'm not that savvy on the new 1100 and 696.
So I've just learnt something new [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

do we know what bike 09696802 has, or have I missed the point again?

sorry for being unclear, i have an 09 696, i was just trying to figure out if i need to do any ecu mods to run slip-on's, i was thinking SC project gp
