Crikeys... watching the world cup and they play this commercial showing bike after bike in horrid wrecks.... I couldn't look away... the carnage... then they show "Motorcycles never crash alone."  Anyhow... it was a very strong ad. Will see if I can find and post it.

Stupid? Please explain.

For a concept point, they do it well.. bikes don't crash alone - you're going in too.

I hate that commercial.  There already are enough family members in my life giving grief about motorcycles, now they see this?

To be honest, family members would be giving us grief anyway.  At least this gives them a new story, instead of the same old, friend of a neighbor's, cousin's, x-roomate's, father, who ran off the mountain lecture.  I have a great aunt who always says goodbye to me with a, "You know that thing is dangerous, and probably gonna get you killed one day.  Think about your kids."  I have to bite my tongue not to throw in a, "Your 82, Mimmie, good chance your goin' before me!"

I love where, near the end, they claim "...protects you" as the last bike is tumbling.

Right. If I had All State insurance I would somehow be safer in that crash?

Yes, I know they mean "protects you against expenses you mightn't otherwise be able to afford." It's still stupid.

The point as I see it is that the rider will benefit from having allstate in a near fatal or fatal accident. Medical insurance being of paramount importance. To rely on the  medical portion of vehicle insurance for coverage is stupid.

Futher, it glamorizes instances in which a rider is either seriously hurt or killed.

I also believe that most riders would find this ad distubing and thus a stupid advertising concept.

I like the ad...cause...stupid people I know don't get it......
"Never grow old .... Never give up"

I agree it is disturbing, which is why I posted on it. However, I have not decided if I like it or not... being it drove conversation, I think it is at least doing its job, eh?

I'm in the 'hate it' camp for two reasons:
1: Having Allstate (or any other damned company) isn't going to protect you at the crash site.  After, yes...but you'll have to live through the wreck to get to that point....so....  This would make a better ad for wearing your gear than not.
2: I don't need these images in my friggin head.  I've seen enough crashes that I haven't been in already...  I certainly don't need some advertisement adding to that.

Ok, one more thing:  I don't think a single motorcycle rider was on the board that approved that ad!

I agree.  It is a stupid a$$ ad.  I fast forward it whenever it comes on.
