Yes, almost as nice as the set-up I had on the S2R1000. But the SS currently has DP/CF cans now so not sure I need to spend the $$$. Just got my hot rod truck back, a Fng $8k cost for some minor damage to the body molding because they could not match the paint, ended up re-paint in diffrent flip colors, most of that was the insurance co but still. I need a lift for my new man cave, a garden shed/bldg for the yard, and I'm on the hunt for a new bike, yes 8 will fit I measured. - Gene

yeah, it reminded me very much of your old ARC style system that IIRC was one of the last made by Doug Cook for Donnie right???

that sucks about the truck and the repaint....wish I had known, as I know a couple of places I might have reccomended that do more high end work...though the color flop stuff IS really hard to match/blend in and it is not uncommon for vehicles with that paint to need an entire redo.

8th bike eh?...what flavor are you "Hunt-ing" for this time?!?!?!   Wink

I dealt with Doug directly, but I did ask Donnie to build the removable baffles when some of the guys complained about riding behind me on trips, as usual he did a gret job on them, two small SS bolts, one each on the bottom at the end of the reverse cone. - Gene

Why would they do that?!?

Is it a way to make sure people don't confuse the 899 with the 1199? To make it seem more lower-spec? Once they engineer the swingarm for the 1199 is it so much more expensive to fit it to the 899? The 748 shared the swingarm with the 916/996 and (unless I'm wrong) so did the 848 with the 1x98...  Huh? and  vomit

I think part of the SSS for the 1199 vs. DSS for then 899 has to do with torsional flex with power output. The 748/916/996/998 did have a very inherantly designed flex to it when the throttle was twisted in transition from the frame. With the stressed engine member frameless design, you don't have that aspect and that may be from a handling perspective why.
