Going from 3 stage to 1 stage stator

Long story short - I have a 2000 M750. I fubared the transmission (one really bad accidental downshift) and got a whole new engine\trans from a 96 or 97 M750.

The 2000 had a 3 stage stator and the 1996 has a 1 stage. I purchased a single stage voltage regulator but I still have to deal with the 3 stage wiring in the wiring harness.

I have a haynes manual and looked over the wiring diagram's for both and it seems like it's gonna be a somewhat easy job, but has anyone who has done this before give me any hints or warnings on what to look out for?

Thanks in advance!

Simple fix...

Hook the two wires out of the stator cover to ANY two of the three wires going to the stock '00 M750 regulator and it'll charge up just as good as that single phase regulator can...   [thumbsup]
