Just a rant about not being able to find specs on parts for Ducati bits and pieces.

I'm upgrading my suspension to on a S2R800 to the suspension from and S4Rt nice adjustable Showa forks, and 4 piston brakes, so this also requires the upgrade of the wheels as well (no complaint).  So I purchased all the bits and pieces here and e-bay got them all together and started assembly, so apparently I screwed up the axel I have for and s4r doesn't fit the Showa forks and now I'm about 2 weeks out waiting for Italy to deliver the parts that I hope will fit.  I know people on this board know the different sizes and I admit I'm envious of that information it might have saved me 2 weeks of wait time.  Can anyone tell me where they have found this information? or is it just something you learn over time .... I hate that.

Well it is a pain that I don't have my bike for 2 weeks but it should be better when I finally get it all together!!

It's easy to find out. Do a search-still nothing? Post up in accessories & mods, and wait for Stu to tell you.

Hey Ontario.   I've been doing this motorcycle thing for a day or two now, or was it 38 years?    Something like that.    I think you are finding out, that things absolutely will not just bolt together.    Very, very seldom.  From that first Honda 70 in 1971, to the current crop of whatever happens to bit sitting in my garage, I really, really know, that I shouldn't expect anything to just fall into place.    Whether I buy a shock  made for a specific bike, or slapping a GSXR 1000 front end and brakes and wheel on the KZ1000 I just bought, it's going on and off of there, probably at least 5 times before it fits like I want it to (I'll probably have to make a steering stem, and I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do for a swingarm and 6" rear wheel, maybe ZRX?) .   That is one of the reasons I've got my own milling machine, lathe and Tig welder, and there is a MIG welder coming soon.   Well, besides being a machinist, the industrial toys in my garage are basically just to support my motorcycle habit. 

So get used to it.    As far as specifications go, "Specs?   I don't got to show you any specs."

Half the time, you are going to have to wing it.     That's half the fun.
