So someone was fatally shot at a local USPSA match. Here is a pic of the range, bays marked A&R were where the rifle shooter was and DOWNRANGE of that was where the match was being held. The red scribble is where the victim was hit.



I would never have shot there knowing there were shooters on the other side of the berm. Who in their right mind would even think this range design is a good idea? I'm betting that range will be out of business very soon.

Not unlike many multiple bay ranges. Nothing wrong with the design. Bulletts cant go 'through' that much earth, so something else happened.

On a KD range in the military. You always have people working' in the pits. Running targets up and down for the shooters. So at anytime there are multiple shooters online firing 556 or 308 like during sniper school. Hell youre actually holding the targets with a stick for snaps and movers.

When I've shot KD here at Camp Pendleton, at least you're in a concrete bunker working the target, and that's about 8-10' overhead. With Shooters of known capability, this place has who knows on the other side of that berm, often newbies or people sighting in.

It's not out of the ordinary for that kind of range configuration. From the picture you can tell it's been there for awhile.

On another note, handgun and AR match yesterday left me in fourth (out of 27).

In the one on one (falling steel)< I had to take two hits to drop it and the .45 only needed one. [laugh]
