SA-15 flush fit mags for the 48 showed up today. I've been waiting about 6 months for these bad boys. Exact same size as the factory 10rd mag, but since they made them from metal they are thinner and hold 15rds. I'll start putting them through their paces tomorrow, and see how they hold up.

Third session running the S15 mags. Ran 500+ today. Shit ton of reload drills etc etc. Had a couple failures to feed the first session, but no issues today. Like other mags I think they need a little break in period. Being metal, they drop like shit through a goose, and reload clean. Shield is offering a 10% stronger spring for them, and they sent me 5 of them at no cost. I'll see how they run when I receive them.

We built the FN here under licence for years calling it the SLR 303. Not sure when we went to NATO rounds.I'm sure you know the story that US soldiers called it the Kentucky Long Rifle during the Vietnam conflict. Damn thing was a robust weapon with great range.

I had a sportified Enfield 303 for awhile with light weight synthetic stock. Miss that gun.

The Batphone rang the other day, it was Uncle Sugar. I'm gonna run the flat range this week for a bunch of the boys heading to the box. I'm sure I've said it before, but it's an honor for me to help train the next generation of warriors. I don't take this shit lightly because I know what's going on in theater. I'll give them everything I got, and then some. The following week I'm headed to Nellis to train the PJs again.

Finished up the two weeks on Friday with the PJs. Gave them everything I had, and we shot a ton of ammo. M-4 and Glocks. Did a white light and NVG session Thursday night. Great group of young guys, and as always they had their eyes opened. It's an honor for me to help train the next generation of barrel chested freedom fighters. Now, I'm stuck in Vegas. My flight keeps getting canceled, and this whole city is pretty much closed.

So, my boys were supposed to go to another instillation to finalize training, but they're locked down here. I'm gonna go back out and work with them this week. We will be able to work with smaller groups because they have other tasks to complete. I'll run all kinds of shooting scenarios with them.

I really need to get my new optics dialed in.

I am now able to target out to the max effective range of the .223/5.56.

I have decided that my next AR will be chambered in .458 SOCOM... as 223/5.56 as well as .300, .308, and other common rifle calibers are getting very sparse out here even at Brownells whose warehouse is only 25 minutes from my front door. But .458 is in stock every where I check.

Doesn't help that the hardware is like 11ty times more expensive but then ya gotta pay to play, amiright?

Got out for some plinking yesterday with my brother and nephew but with the gusty winds, spent most of my time stationary.

Build the gun around what you have access to run through it is the same as build the engine for the fuel you can get.
