It is very hard to find one. The production numbers are low. When you do find them the price is usually 3 times MSRP. It is almost impossible to get one in a store as well. They sell before they make it to the shelf.

All of the shops in close proximity to me charge at least a $100 FFL fee, and a lot of times they're hesitant about doing FFLs just because they want the sale of the gun.

I don't know about a surcharge, per se. Well, it's not stated as such but 7 out of 10 guns are marked higher than MSRP!

On top of that, sales tax in LA is 9%. And yes, they charge for background as well as a DROS (Dealer Record of Sale) fee.

The DROS fee IS the background. There is no additional background fee on top of the $25 DROS fee.

What are all these "fees" you speak of? In Texas since I have a carry license I do not have to go through a "waiting period" nor do I have to pay any extra fees for anything. Just the price of the gun and the normal state sales tax... fill out the standard 4473/yellow sheet, pay the FFL dealer for the gun and out the door I go.

What's going on in all these other states that I am glad I don't live in?
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

In NH if you buy a firearm online it has to be transferred from the seller to you by an FFL.

Same in Texas.

That's what the $20 fee is for.

Some states actually have an approved system whereby the NICS check is waived if the purchaser has a CCW.  These states do regular updates on their CCW holders and are listed on the ATF website as "Brady alternative" states.

In MD, you can buy a rifle or shotgun same day.......... fill out the form and walk out with it.

A "regulated weapon" (handgun or rifle/shotgun that's on The List) requires a 7 day waiting period in addition to a 1/2 hour gun safety video.

They give you a card after watching the video so you only have to watch it once.

7 days [laugh] [bang] [puke] I just waited 45 days for that .22 Mag. I hear that the wait right now is over 60 days! MSP is swamped with the paperwork and background checks. Some big box stores are even making people wait for non-regulated guns. They are telling people that NICS is "down or not working right now". It's a joke! If you are a designated collector in MD it takes even longer because they have had a lot of people lying about that and trying to buy multiple guns at one time.

Which one?

A beater 75.  Good shape.  Old style pre B.

I have an 85 but its brand new and a 1990 unmarked import.  Might be worth more as is.

Only thing ever wrong with them usually is the finish. [thumbsup]

That's not bad, $70 plus tax sure beats close to $150 plus tax!! And driving out to Anaheim isn't all that bad, I'd go further if it meant I didn't have to pay almost twice what the gun normally goes for.

Thanks for the link [thumbsup]

What would a "brake adapter" be used for?

1/2-28 on the inside, 13/16-16 on the outside, some knurling and some slots.
