Ok So I posted a thread a while ago about my carb dripping gas out of some bleeder valve at the top of my carb which I found out was because my carb needle was stuck due to rust and dirt (dirty tank) which I fixed but weeks later I filled the tank up today and was riding to work when I opened it up to go around some slow guy and then I felt the damn drip again!!!

Should this valve be screwed close or have a cap on it? I'm just afraid if I try it I will flood the carb and it was make its way in the engine or something.

Anyone want to walk outside and see what there bike looks like.

That is a drain for your float bowl. Remove the screw and carefully clean the screw and seat (without scratching either) and replace the screw and snug it up. Probably the best way to clean is with ether (starting fluid) then compressed air. It occurs to me to mention to go easy with the air. Don't want to build up pressure in the bowl.

So the screw should be in far enough to close the drain? Won't that make the gas go other places or will that close the carb once it is full enough? Just double checking before I mess with stuff I don't know how to fix if it breaks ha.

That is just the drain.  The floats control the level of fuel in the bowl.

Ok makes sense I just wanted to make sure closing this drain isn't going to fllood the carb because the gas is leaking out so the gas has to go somewhere doesn't it?

As long as the floats are adjusted right, they will stop the flow of gas into the bowls at the correct level.

Well the carb was flushed and all about 3 weeks ago so all of that should be good. Only problem is it's not easy getting to that bolt haha. I guess I will try though. Thanks for the help guys.

Don't just turn the screw in till gas stops, turn all the way until it seats then snug it up. You want it tight so it doesn't back out from vibration, but don't get too agressive. How tight is difficult to explain. It's a matter of experience.

Well I was afraid of over tightening it so I did it just a littttle bit which was a lot tighter than I thought it was going to be, I couldn't even move it with my hand and a screw driver, I had to improvise.

That problem is fixed and now I have another one... my luck.

The coating I thought would fix my tank has failed. I need a new tank. What gas tanks fit a M750?

I don't know everything about Monsters but there were s2r s4r 696 1100 750 900 1000s and 695 tanks. Which ones will fit my bike?

I saw some up on ebay for like 400-500. Anyone know a place with better tanks or brand new ones for around the same price.
