Lost my lisence plate :( lol

Somewhere between union city 880S through 17 and 9 to brookdale. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone see's it lemme know! I can't remember the letters numbers, i'll grab my registration from my jacket tomorrow and post it. It's attached to a black piece of metal that was once welded to my custom tailchop bracket, lol.
EDIT: anyone know what the fee is to have them replaced?

Oh please do. It's my own Damn fault. I rode to Santa Cruz last weekend to link up with an old high school friend. I was proud of my Ducati, especially my homemade tail chop kit and shotgun shells in the frame when I noticed somewhere along the trip that my rear tire decided to eat my license plate and push it towards the front. I had been through some nasty bumps and it never did that, so I imagined it was a fluke and just bent it back. Low and behold I go to see her again and she's like "whoa cowboy riding without a plate huh?" I didn't even get off my bike yet, I just slouched in place and knew what happened. It is kinda funny tho, assuming it didn't hit anyone else falling off.

This will make you feel better....
My husband and I bought a 1969 Alfa Romeo GTV several years ago. We'd just started working and our only car wasn't much and on its way out... we wanted to upgrade a little. I had $5500 dollars in my savings account--he had nothing. Our checking accounts had maybe $1500 between the two of us. Somehow he got it into his head that he wanted Italian. He made me come see it before he bought it--it was nighttime. I could tell he really wanted it, so I gave him all of my savings (this was before we were married) and told him to get it. It was mustard yellow with a black interior and a bunch of chrome on it--bumper, tail pipe, window trim, etc. It was a pretty little thing and we got a lot of attention driving it.
So one night we're cruising along the freeway and we notice that our car had gotten louder--suddenly. We freaked a little but it seemed to be running OK. We were pretty used to minor things going wrong with it, so if we didn't see fire or smell bad things, we just kept driving. My husband had noticed that traffic seemed to drop off behind us about the time that the noise started, but we just figured it was because the car was noisy or smoking or something...
It wasn't until the next morning when we went to the car that we noticed a piece of that nice, shiny chrome was missing--our tail pipe. The whole thing must have fallen off on the freeway. I can only imagine what that must have been like for the people behind us. We went to go look for it several days later, but never found it.

That's nothing, one time on my old XT 350 the Whole muffler came off and i had to turn around and get it. Them preceded to ride home 20 miles with 10lbs of hot exhaust pipe on my lap. all the while running straight pipes off the headers sounding like a bat out of hell. lets just say i got some weird looks. i miss that think good times, good times.

I think it's $18 for the plate and $18 for the sticker.

$19 (that's what I paid.) See how it happened.
Monster tail chop video
I actually didn't lose the plate (went back and found it), but replaced it anyway.
Went to DMV in the next day off, paid registration fee ($121) at the same time , so it was $140 total.
Oh, also, I decided to chop the tail after this, . (hence the title.)

Worse things have happened, and at least you got a great story out of it
Nothing like pulling up on the bike you're so proud of just to have a pretty (I'm going out on a limb here) girl notice your plate fell off. Facepalm city...
It's ok though, I was blasting down a back road near my old house way back on my '77 Sportster when I started to hear a rattle. Keep in mind it's a '77 (AMF) Harley so a little rattle was usually a GOOD sign as long as the bike stayed running. I rode for a few more miles when suddenly the pipe blows off and fire starts shooting out the side of the bike. I pull over, go back to get the pipe, and like a genius pick it up in frustration. Turns out that exploding fossil fuels and metal make for one hot combination, burned the hell out of my hand. Once it cooled off I jammed it back on enough to get home. Lesson learned.

Sorry to hear that. If you plate was a vanity plate, they won't replace it...just give you a new one.

I was in the right lane when the last of the RF wheel nuts on my pickup worked itself off and the tire/wheel goes bouncing in front of me across all three lanes of busy traffic and stopped against the center guard rail. Wheuuu

Let me give you a good hint. If you don't mount the license plate in the standard place, make an aluminum plate holder that lets you bolt it on with all four bolts and put some rubber grommets between the plate and the plate holder so that it won't crack. I had one of those on the Monster after I chopped the tail and have one currently on my XR650L which has all different parts behind the back of the seat. The plates never bend or crack that way.
Of course, it's more important to me, since I have personalized plates on everything and would hate to lose one and not be able to replace it.
