They're gonna need more money to pay for all our shiny new mobile speed cameras, so they've increased the cost for speeding fines by 7 percent.

But from a safety point of view ... we can all sleep well at night knowing that the almost 50% anticipated increase in fines revenue will no doubt bring about a corresponding reduction in accidents and the death toll.

And all that for a measily 7% increase imposed on those irresponsible individuals who blatantly disregard the law and place the public at undue risk.

I think it is time these policymakers were widely applauded and feted for their wisdom and forethought ... their care for the greater community can no longer be held in any doubt. So lets gather them together, place them upon the pedestal which they so richly deserve ... and burn the make the beast with two backsing thing to the ground.

Sorry I couldn't keep it going any longer laughingdp

You NSW people are slowly catching up to the Nanny State. All my speed infringements have been for 10kms over fines were $220 each time.  It's probably more these days.

It's my understanding that in Victoria all fine increases are linked to CPI, ie. when the cost of living goes up so do fines.
Seems like the only thing that doesn't go up with CPI is our wages, well at least not without a fight anyway.
