I'm lucky to live in an area that doesn't pay much attention to casual speeding (10-15 over, keeping pace with traffic, etc. )

They don't really care too much about that down here in SoCal either, sometimes. I've had a cop pull up behind me while going 10-15 over and then go around me cause I was going too slow. I'm sure there is a little discretion when it comes to keeping the pace, unfortunately not too many people are keeping pace with you at 120+.

Attorney, no doubt

Its not about the money, its about knowing how to play in the crooked system.

with an attorney, you do no jail time, get it reduced or dropped and never gets put on your record, so you arent assigned risk or uninsurable.

Next time, if you commit to speed, you better commit to run, or dont do it on the freeway, where the police live. Remember Highway patrol or ONLY in existance to collect revenue. They have NOTHING to do with fighting real crime. So if you play in the playground with a guy who makes his living as a sneak attack revenue generator, you are going to lose. Every time.

Five dead CHP officers in the last 7 weeks and you choose to admonish me over the use of the word ignorant rather then enforce the anti cop talk rule.

10-4.

because you choose to hide behind the no cop talk rule and constantly come in and take cheap shots.

I don't like it when anyone dies, but that doesn't give you the right to break the rules, and what does the death of those officers have to do with this thread? Also, why would I knowthat. It's a world away from me, and there is nothing in this thread that addresses that.

Furthermore someone else breaking the rules doesn't/shouldn't change your posting.

If you want to argue this further...

save your breath.

Forgive me for the blasphemy but have any of you ever given any thought to NOT doing double the speed limit and if doing so is absolutely necessary NOT running from the cops?
+1 on this.

Although I also agree with Raux, in that speed isnt necessarily dangerous.  I too have lived in Germany, driven/ridden at high speed (compared to the US or Aus) and lived to tell the tale.   Its inappropriate speed which is dangerous.  In Germany everybody knows to both expect others to be travelling quickly and also how to behave at "high" speed themselves.  Whereas your local Granny isnt lookin for you comin form "nowhere" @ 120mph.  So, in some driving cultures what you did is quite acceptable, but where you did it IMHO is somewhat foolish.  Time now to take the consequences.  Hopefully its not too harsh.  Good luck.

Try living in Australia, speeding over here is almost a shooting offence!......Speed cameras and Speeding Camera vans are hiding everywhere.
Aw c'mon CD, thats overstating it a little.  I agree with the thrust of your comments, but it still is possible to ride without being ticketed even here in Mexitoria, just takes care and attention.  Something we all ought exercise every time we ride  Wink.

I've never hidden behind any rule. I watch and wait to see if you will enforce the rule. You rarely do. Then I post, as it seems only fair since the rule obviously isn't a rule that is enforced. Then I get smacked and you weakly mention the no cop talk rule as an aside.

See above.

No desire to argue. There has always been an obvious bias toward me from you and your counterpart. I get that.

And no, you probably didn't know about the loss of our CHP Officers. Retro surely did. I've been wearing a black band over my badge for the past month, sorry if I get a bit upset when someone insults their contribution.

Funny story bout speeding...

was talking to a guy who stopped to watch me work on my bike. He told me that when he was my age he got pulled over on the pacific coast highway doing somewhere around 125. the officer asked him why he was speeding to which he replied he was "just going with the flow." the officer was bewildered and asked with the flow of what? there aren't any other vehicles out here.
the gentleman answered by pointing at a passing airplane and said he was trying to keep up with them. the officer, although amused by the answer, issued a ticket which was followed by some court stuff.

gave me a good chuckle while lowering the my headlight bracket.
good luck with the legal process and 2nd everyone on getting lawyered up. at worst it hurts your wallet, at best it saves you from some cell time.
