I like that it is listed in the very appropriately named "Amissville"

They won't allow "Shitstew City" anymore

There have been Indiana postings on here before and plenty of discussion on the head-scratching nature of the bike. Nonetheless I am oddly fascinated by and drawn to this generally unloved model. I'm not interested enough to make the mistake of buying one...at least I think I'm not....
Anyways, this eBay posting deserves special mention for a couple of reasons. Number one, the bike is fairly presentable and the owner has actually "invested" a fair amount of money and effort into the bike. He bought NOS forks from Australia. I can only imagine the Aussie parts guy's reaction "You want forks for a what?? You are willing to pay to have them shipped to the US??" They probably thought they would never sell those forks. Number two, it is one of the better eBay ads I have seen in a while as far as really showing the bike and honestly indicating its cosmetic issues. The "winning" bidder will know what they're getting. I've seen so many bad eBay ad that it is refreshing to see one well done.

Posting up a coworker's bike for sale. Anyone looking for a nicely maintained 1098S?

1996 Ducati 900SS/SP $3,700.00 (but he's dropping the price by 20$ a day? - strange selling technique but maybe works)

"hope someone didn't beat you by $20" I think that is the strategy. Maybe I'll try something innovative on my near perfect 02' SS900. - Gene

-- Wow... Nice S2R for sale. Only so-so part is the ODO doesn't match engine mileage. If I wasn't such a newb I'd pick this up in a heartbeat.

Nice bike but getting tires for it are a problem unless you just park it in the living room. - Gene

It belonged to the owner of Gotham Racing who ran a Ducati 750SS in WERA lightweight in the 90s. He passed away unfortunately and his collection is being sold off. There was also an 851 and a Triumph tourer that were on CL / eBay in the last few weeks. The bikes were in really great shape (I saw them in person) and the 750 racers (bequeathed to his rider I believe) were super cool. One had a cool aftermarket frame (I couldn't tell who manufactured it). Both had all the fancy go-fast carbon bits, etc.
He also had a killer Lotus Elise (modern one). It was sad to see all his cool stuff knowing he wouldn't be enjoying it anymore, but it was nice to see that he knew how to have fun with all the good toys! None were trailer queens and all were ready to ride.

Thanks for the info Tocino. You don't see a lot of 750 Pasos with that many miles, so it certainly got ridden at some point. It's always sad to hear of someone's passing, but good to hear of what was perhaps a life well lived.

I was thinking the same thing! That guy must have had the patience of a saint to put that kind of mileage on that super quirky motorcycle. Thought it was my first bike until I saw the one owner part.
Gorgeous bike!

Not any more.
Shinko and Golden Tyre are making hoops for it.
