I used to tune weber IDFs and DCNFs in my sleep.  They were a Bug upgrade.  I still have a Brazilian kit with dcnfs for a dual port Bug engine somewhere...

It's local. It's cheap. But it's the ugliest thing I've ever seen. What's the big deal with this bike?

Ugly? No any MTS is ugly among a few others in Ducati history, but not a Paso. FWIW I get comments wherever I ride my 907, a classic design that started the full bodywork design of the late 80s. - Gene

Well..., really the DB1 which I couldn't begin to afford, so I bought a Limited which was Cagiva's answer. 8) One of my rich Porsche clients had one...  :'( BASTARD!!!  ;D

As Paul Harvey would have said and now for the rest of the story -

"Tamburini left Bimota after 11 years following a falling out with Morri. In 1985 he joined the renowned Cagiva Group, founded by Claudio Castiglioni. The same year, Castiglioni acquired Ducati. Despite their differences, Tamburini continued to work occasionally with Bimota and styled the DB1 prototype, which used the engine of the Ducati Pantah 750; it was exhibited at the Milan Bike Show.

Tamburini eventually became head of the Cagiva research and development department, and designed both Cagiva and Ducati motorbikes. His first design was the Ducati Paso 750, named in memory of his friend Renzo Pasolini, who died while racing at Monza in 1973. The Paso broke from Ducati's race-influenced F1 styling and brought fully enclosed bodywork to the mainstream. In 1996, Texas Pacific Group bought a 51 per cent stake in the company for $325m, then, in 1998, bought the remaining 49 per cent to become the sole owner of Ducati."

I like the limited but I went for the 907 based on my research, also did not pay a bunch for it. I've ridden it on a few short overnight trips where I thought it fit into the trip such as riding up to PA to do a Retro Tour last summer http://www.retrotours.com/ . I like my Paso alot and I'm impressed with the fact they made such a bike back in 92' - Gene

I had a poster of Renzo Pasolini on my wall growing up.  I've always had a soft spot for Pasos.

I have a Paso Poster in my garage it is a 907 featured in a Killian Red beer poster. Not sure how rare it is, I've not seen another one online. - Gene

I was 16 when the (750) Paso came out and read every magazine review. I was already well bitten by the Ducati bug at that point.  Unfortunately my financial situation at the time dictated that I wasn't able to upgrade from my '71 SL100. At least it was red. :-\

MORE IMPORTANTLY....the buy it now is gone and the reserve is off.....bidding is at $1901 with just under 2 days remaining. Who's buying this beautiful machine??

Not any more.

Shinko and Golden Tyre are making hoops for it.

That shinko link is wrong it shows a 17" front and 18" rear, the other one looks right, 16" tires. - Gene
