What's a reasonable price for this bike?

for comparo FWIW ( yes it has more miles on it, but a 998 didn't have the issues that a 996 did, so it wasn't as big a deal)

and then a bike that has a WHOLE LOT more to it in it...

Well it *is* an S model, and is a limited edition so I'd say more than that - maybe 12 if it's in great shape (does seem to be) - but KBB shows 10K for retail, so 8K isn't so far off the mark. I guess in the end it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If he does get the asking price, I'm going to start selling some of mine. I'll take 7.5K for my 900SS. Step right up! Ran when parked! Not for beginners!

That Bostrom is a 998S, so it's a pretty sweet bike.  Still a bit pricey though.  For perspective, I had a guy offer $12.5K on the SC.

ARGH!!

althought the SL II didn't have the Marvic wheels, it was nice.

The FE is basically the same as the SLII with the later alternator setup and oil temp

Bit far from the DMV.

yes...just a smidge...

translation....bike laid down but relaunched with cheaper parts from a dirtbike shop ( bars and Acerbis headlight unit) and called a streetfighter...then the realization of how much a 24K service is when coming to the reality of it being due and the decision to sell it fast and cheap to try and dodge a bullet.
