You want early 80s Pantahs?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ducati-Desmo-350-pantah-1983-CLASSIC-cafe-race-italian-motorcycle-run-fast-/171024709119?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item27d1ddf5ff

The difference in price is telling.

Original condition, original 350SL pantah -- for sale in Italy -- Starting bid is â,¬100

Semi-repro TT using a "rino" (I think he means Reno) Carracci TYPE frame (i.e. a modified Pantah frame) and gold-painted Paoli forks and yoke to make it look like it's magnesium -- for sale in nowheresville, TN -- starting bid is a hair under $50k  WTF

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Grandparents & Mamma` are going to Italy this summer, should I ask them about bringing it back for you?  [cheeky]
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

If you're serious, have them pick up a few of anything Ducati or Morini made before 1988 and we'll talk.

From Lou Saif:

Quote"This is the second time this bike has been listed. The first add had some mis-information, the second listing compounds even more bullshit in his story than the first. This is an NCR frame, seat/tank unit and a modified fairing of the same 'kit'. That's it. It's not aluminum like his first listing and is not a copy of the Maxton frame. Other than the exhaust and the above mentioned parts, it is a standard pantah. A frame kit and a donor bike at best. Not a 'Scuderia NCR' bike nor do original NCR bikes have anything to do with the new NCR/Poggipolni company. They do build beautiful bikes and have the name that they purchased, but that's it. History getting twisted again for financial gain. Lou Saif"

I wish, my old SV is still sitting in the garage next to my grandfathers Lancia Fulvia :'(

On a different note: MotorcycleGear (aka NewEnough) has some nice closeouts on Nelson Rigg luggage: I just got the tankbag for $20: http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/closeouts/all_types/nelson_rigg/?utm_source=Almost+Free+Site+FAIL%3B++Luggage+Pricing+FAIL&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_medium=email

Generally not a fan, but from a purely aesthetic point, it's all in the execution.  They can look good.  That bike, whether it looks accurate or not, looks good...at least in a 3" picture on my screen.
