sexiness could be potentially had for a REALLY good deal since there is no reserve in place!

Super clean. What's with the safety-wire though?

You might be thinking of one of the NCR / Poggipolini specials that used the 900SS motor. NCR had one of their 1098 Ti frames on display at MotoGP one year that you could pick up - it was funny to see people's reaction to how light it was. I know I was impressed.
The Superlight was the forerunner of the SS/SP (before the 900SS was split into two versions: the "budget" CR and the SP), and so had carbon fiber bits, lighter wheels, better brakes. I think there are two versions with the first year being the best. They only came in yellow and all were single-seaters.

I guess that's it. I swear I read years ago that the Superlights came stock with a ti frame. But that was years ago, and I've drank a ton since then. Literally.

Not exactly. There was a 900ss before with better than CR features but not an SL. the SL is a special edition SS. The first SS of this generation (LH clutch slave) had a steel swing arm, regular brembo wheels and stainless rotor and no carbon fiber.
The SL was just a special edition. And purists only consider the first version with the two piece wheels to be a true SL - like this one.

Right, I wasn't implying that the pre-SS/CR 900s were the same as CRs.

I see what you said now, you said SS/SP. Sort of yes but the SL was really meant as a race-ish bike with the monopost.
More accurately, the SL is a precursor to the FE -- with the exception of the wheels and the 3-phase electrics, they are essentially the same bike.

For anyone who's been holding out for an Aerostich sale, and happens to wear one of the sizes they have in stock, this sale on the AD1 Pant through 5/1 is a good deal:

I was never a fan of the 99-06 bodywork, but I like the way it looks naked. Reminds me of the Streetfighter a little

not too surprising for a first edition SL with intact original 2-piece wheels.
