Post up deals (both good and stupid) when you find them.
Here's one for the stupid category:

Love the "set the mood" with the bottle/glass because that is the ONLY reason that I would buy the bike! Sheesh.

On that second one is classy!
The first... Stay away from anyone who views bikes as investments.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I'd rock the hell out of that SC, if I didn't have one so similar already.
I need to talk to the guy who owns that 848, as he has a line on some really good dope.

oh c'mon...he probably paid full pop + from Speed's and doesn't have ANY of the stock parts to go along with it and so thinks he is entitled to the full asking amount even though it doesn't add up to anywhere near reality.....it isn't even sporting at that point to point out what a moron he is....it is more like shooting at fish in a barrel of water with a shotgun.

I'd pass on the S2R, simply because it's an 800 and you wouldn't really notice all that much difference from what you have now. So in essence, if you are wanting something "more", go with something more.
As far as the S4R goes... Well, that's one hell of a bike for sure, and it's got some really nice bling on it. One thing though, it's really close to needing the 6000 mile service and that is NOT cheap on the 4V motors. Plus, that bike has a 996 spec motor I believe, and you have to watch out for flaking rockers...
Plus, didn't you say that you wanted something with a bit more aggressive ergos? You could put clip-ons on either of the Monsters, but you'd still be dealing with the Monster's positioning...
Now if you were completely open to something sidiculous, I'd take a look at:

Does anyone actually know anyone with an S4R that has had flaking rockers?
I thought they worked out that problem ages ago.

One of the guys in Hawaii said his old one had issues, but I never personally saw it.

I do...this guy I know on an '05 Blue/White-striped S4R had 2 openers and 1 closer flake and decided to do them all with Megacycle rockers and while in their also did cams and a bunch of other work...of course...he could afford that and didn't think twice when he had it all done...

Word. Yep, yep... I am wanting a bit more power.

Hmmm... I'll get a quote for the service and see what the real cost will be for picking this bike up. I'll dig around about the rockers... Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes, after riding a few sportbikes, I prefer the position (but not the fairings [yuck]). I really love the look of Monsters - am thinking a 900-1100cc with clip-ons is in my future. Or a Sport 1000 with a few mods...
