They have a Sport1000 out at Ducpond that was converted over to an S and they said it would take about twelve plus hours of time totalling about four grand.
Aaaaand?
VW dealer says it would take 6K to fix everything on my car (1994 Golf)!!! That was one of the most hilarious conversations of my life, btw. Anyway, if you want it, do it yourself; but I would leave your Sport just the way it is!!!

I like the SC just the way it is, but I like the S bettererer... I have only seen one yellow SC with the bubble fairing on it, and that was in either Denmark or Sweden (can't remember which anymore), and it looked really nice. Plus, it would be nice to have a slight degree of wind protection on that thing. I'm not looking to get the side panels or anything, as to me that takes away from the look of the bike. I just like the bubble around the cockpit.

Saw this today when I was posting the CB1 on the local Craigslist.

There's also someone parting out a wrecked 2001 748. Wonder if anything is compatible...

Not sure about the clamps (upper and lower triples) because Monster and Superbike have different steering geometries. I mean, the clamps would fit, but it would affect your ride.
Also, and this is just my personal opinion, but if I had a 620, I'd save my $$$ to buy something bigger instead on investing on it.

Oh yeah, I agree. I'm just looking for a missing rear foot peg. Because this bike replaced the former girlfriend, I'd like it capable for the possibility of future female conveyance.

Wind noise and I are gonna have to be known as the 620 Crew! [moto] I've got an 03 with a missing rear peg after my bridge joint debacle (and a bent gear shift lever).
Picked mine up off craigslist as a first bike a couple months ago and have been loving it ever since.
I'll probably ride it this year and start thinking about an upgrade next spring.

Err - ew. Mismatched tank and other body work... hmm fishy fishy. Also, Arrow doesn't make a titanium AND CF in one exhaust. They make both... but as two separate part numbers.
For you foot pegs - any proper side foot peg from a DSS monster - any DSS monster will work for you. There's also some after market ones from Oberon if you want some bling. Just make sure, if it hasn't already happened, you don't loose the little spring and ball bearing detent set-up for the passenger peg. They love to go shooting across the 8th dimension

Now you tell me! I moved a rear one forward so I could keep riding without knowing about the balls (there's 2 of them)/spring setup. Flew out, rolled across the garage concrete and made a hole-in-one in some kind of construction hole that is a snug fit for the bearing and about 1/2 inch deep.
Not worth busting up the floor for a $0.29 bearing. That spring on the front peg is a pregnant dog to get back on properly too!

Those prices are pretty good! I'm surprised to find someone beating the prices at
Competition Accessories
!
for the find.

Interesting find:
2004 DUCATI ST3
with a PA certificate of salvage. Anyone ever heard of copart.com?
Once I get myself a proper garage, I'd like to buy one of these bikes and build myself a little toy.
Ideas on how easy/difficult it would be to buy a bike with a certificate of salvage and get her road legal again? I know people tend to buy salvage bikes and use them as track only bikes.
From a mechanical standpoint, I can probably manage by myself, but I'm completely ignorant about the legal hurdles.

well....MD certainly doesn't make it easy...once you are done rebuilding it to spec ( with all proper D.O.T. lights and everything installed and ready to pass MD state inspection) you have to haul it up to the MD State Police Barracks at the MVA in Glen Burnie for them to perform an inspection on the bike and then they do a title search to make sure of any variances and stuff like that and then they will let you know if they will clear it for to issue you a rebuilt stamped title...it will never read as a clear title though going through this process...and the insurance companies will get something from the MVA saying it is a branded title I think...which will affect your coverage...
now...FWIW...from what I've heard, you can get a salvage title converted to a clean title through the state of Tennessee....and then once you have a clean and clear TN title, you can title it anywhere as a regular vehicle...
