This conversation is ghey. Why is it that people from Ohio are so whinny about their sport teams? I would rather live with the fair weather fans.

You are catching on to another reason I don't like living here, among many.

They are freaks for the most part.

I've seen 40+ year old men throw beer bottles and cry after football loses.

It is really really pathetic.

If you haven't been to Ohio, you couldn't understand why so much is put into sports fandom. There's not much else going on.

I'm one of those few native Ohioans that don't care AT ALL for college sports. I spend my autumn saturday afternoons reading.  [thumbsup]

I really think it is unfair to to label just Ohio as being crazy fans.

LSU and Alabama fans are just as bad as Buckeye fans along with most of the midwest and south. I think the Northeast and California/Arizona areas are way less into them. I believe that college sports (especially football) strike a chord with people.  It is a much purer form of the nation's favorite sport. When you only have 12 games to make a statement to the voters and BCS almost every game matters.

We do have a bunch of whacky crimes that make national news frequently..............does that count?

Not a native Ohioan here, but I prefer to go moto riding on Saturday's in the fall during the make the beast with two backseye's games.

There is no traffic ANYWHERE.

However, beware after the games...............drinking and driving here, at least in Columbus, is alive and well.
