Thursday, a City by the Lake lost it's hope for all the years of joy and happiness that a King brought and might have brought in the future  to it's bedridden masses yearning for more than a Football Team that has been an embarrassment to them for years and a Baseball Team that yields little hope for the sweet taste of Victory so long missing in the City by the Lake.

I understand your frustration DE, but kopf is right.  Still too bad it had to be Miami.

There's no guarantee he's going to win at Miami .

He could have stayed in Cleveland another 3 years as young as he is .

But Miami does have 2 pretty good players .

The computer has already picked 66/16. (?)

He would not get those odds with the Cavs.

Dan Gilbert sounded like a bitter girlfriend after a rough breakup...  [roll]

He couldn't?  The Cavs won 61 games last year and then his punk ass quit in the playoffs.  make the beast with two backs him for how he went about this.  I understand wanting to move on but don't make the beast with two backsing kill the hopes of your home area on national make the beast with two backsing tv where he basically sucked his own dick for an hour and a half.  The Cavs did everything they could to help him and were going to get Flynn from Minnesota to help at point.  If you ask me, his all important legacy will be nothing if he has to have Dwade and CB to win.  Plus you can't win with 3 guys no matter who they are.  There is something to be said for sticking with a team (and this was LB's hometown team) and winning championships because you are that good.  Jordan, Kobe, Bird, Magic- all these guys did this.  Lebron will never be able to say that.

I think JB put it best- it sucks for Cleveland but it also sucks for all NBA fans because we'll never get to see the same Lebron or Dwade where they're the man.  Neither of them will win a MVP as long as they play together because the points and touches just won't be there.  Still wondering how this is going to work and what scrubs Miami is going to put around them.

Krolik-

It might not mean anything to you but Cleveland is going to be devastated by this. It's a town already on the brink of ruin and this could be the straw.  I'm thinking we'll see the Cavaliers move to Columbus sometime in the next five years.

Pip-

To me, Dan Gilbert sounded like a guy who stood behind someone, spent millions of dollars to help him win only to have him quit and then leave.  How would you feel?  I think we're all going to find out that Lebron is not who we thought he was.

So make the beast with two backs you Lebron your a make the beast with two backsing asshole

make the beast with two backs it-  Ohio still has the Buckeyes and TP who are poised to seriously make the beast with two backs up some teams this year.

I'll be willing to take that bet with you any day.

OSU will implode per usual if they make it to a BCS game.

I completely understand this sentiment, but Lebron also gave the Cavs 7 good years, a shot at the NBA Finals, a run this year, and from what I read scored 48 percent of the team's points. Not to mention all of the revenue generated by people who just wanted to see "King" James. Y'all went from 40-60% capacity to selling out damn near every game. Hotels, nightlife, restaurants and just about everything else benefited from him... He brought that franchise a ridiculous amount of money, and more importantly, attention. Dan Gilbert sounds like he's forgotten this. I realize he sunk money and time into Lebron, but it was more than returned. Saying "Cleveland will win a title before Lebron does" is ridiculous and immature, and Gilbert sounded more like a scorned fan than a disappointed owner. That being said, I think LBJ's presser/special was narcissistic, self-important, and he is a shameless self promoter... I'm not a FAN of Lebron, I just find him interesting, and a solid player. I feel really bad for Cleveland, and I really would have liked to have seen him stay, but it was a business deal. Had he sucked it up this year, Gilbert would have dropped him like a sack of potatoes. Gilbert should have handled this professionally and with some decorum. I understand the need for fans to see passion and emotion, but he went overboard. Just my $0.02 (And I typed this at work and kept getting interrupted, so it may seem disjointed... my bad)

I agree with you on most of this.  I actually like that an owner or anyone in the public eye spoke his mind.  To often lately people in the public can't  say anything without offending someone or having to apologize and I hate that about America.

It's just Lebron did quit this year against Boston and then left his home for South Beach and you have no idea how much that hurts.

I'll take your bet Jud.  Ask Oregon and their amazing offense (oh yeah and Masoli) about how the Buckeyes imploded in the Rose Bowl.  You would think that per usual would mean most of the time but the Buckeyes are 4-3 in BCS games under Tressel and 5-3 in BCS games overall which is tied with USC and Florida for most BCS wins.
