I am not mechanically inclined, that being said I have installed fender eliminators and such. I am thinking about installing my Boom Tubes myself and am just curious is there anything I need to be aware of when removing the factory exhaust or installing the new one? They didn't come with any instructions and I want to be sure I don't mess anything up. Thanks for any help.

Removing factory system: (figure @20 minutes as it comes apart slow)

1) Remove your factory exhaust cans.
2) Remove your Servo Eliminator assembly
3) Remove the 02-sensors w/22mm wrench (mark which one went to rear / front headers)
4) Remove Y-pipe beneath the seat (You have to lift up the back of the gas tank slightly to get access to the screws)
5) Carefully rotate and pull the y-pipe rearward to remove.
6) Unbolt front header and remove. (usually a bit of a  PITA)
7) Remove rear header

To install BoomTubes: (@10 minutes)

1) leave the exhaust tips COVERED until finished -- thus they don't get scratched by banging around
2) install rear header but don't torque nuts tight
3) install 02-sensors into collector/crossover -- rear02 to front collector tube and front02 to rear collector tube
4) install collector/crossover assembly w/02-sensors installed
5) add spring clip between rear header/collector
6) you might want to loosen the rear header nuts at this point -- sometimes it makes it easier to install front header
7) install front header and put spring clip across front header/collector
note; extra spring goes into your toolbox -- spare if one should ever break
Cool verify rear exhaust tip / rearset clearance.  Check swingarm / rear header clearance.
9) tighten exhaust flange nuts
10) Fire and ride
11) no "dyno' full throttle runs until 2-3 heat cycles in system to bake ceramic finish.  it's fired to 575deg -- but still needs to cure when approaching 1000 deg

To install Duc.EE: (@ 30 seconds)

1) Plug into Servo Actuator plug
2) most folks put in the tray next to the toolbag.  But you can use the tie-wraps to attach anywhere you want
3) turn ignition on and wait @3 seconds.  Should initialize.  no EXVL error.  If it doesn't initalize, turn key off/on again.  It will initialize on 2nd sequence.

Note: first time you ride adjacent to a wall, etc on your rightside -- you will jump as the exhaust reverb echo's back at yourself somewhat.  You get used to it fairly soon though.

One of my major "to do" items this Winter is to get all installation instructions on video and youtubed for all products.  I'll have someone who is very articulate in speaking and isn't as "mechanically adept" as myself.  If I did the videos myself -- folks would undoubtedly be looking for the slow motion button to watch...

Example is the 696-796-1100 Monster tailchop kit we are working on now.  I'd just say "remove all the ugly factory parts rearward of the rear fuel tank mount and install the new carbonfiber seat tray and factory taillight assembly".  Whereas someone more articulate would say "use a 4mm hex to remove" and "use the kit supplied XYZ to reinstall" in a more methodical step-by-step process.

A friend wanted me to do the FoodTV next food network star show until they realized that even with multiple cameras filming myself -- nobody would have a clue at all in terms of my recipes and preparation methods.  I'd have lots of good stories to tell and the food would taste good, but most people would never make it past the first ten minutes without being completely lost in bewilderment.
