What a coincidence the lawsuit was filed exactly 1 day prior to 2 years from the supposed confrontation with the Cougar.

If the kid really did ask for another seat or to change seats and the flight attendants failed to try to reseat him, he might have a good claim.

What a douche!  At 14 I would have jumped at the chance for any trim I could.

I hope is friends make fun of him all the time.

1. Why wasn't the lawsuit filed 2 years ago?
2. Why didn't they file charges against the Cougar with the drugs?

I just read this. This is a lot more serious than you guys are making it.

The 14yrold was flying unaccompanied probably due to a divorce situation.
wow, i mean my own children have to due this, and i would absolutely freak if the attendants let this happen to them.

THOUSANDS of children have to due this every year. Knowing that the airline attendants did not assist this kid is extremely upsetting. Making an example of this airline is probably a big part of the situation for the lawsuit. Airlines have special programs for kids in these situations, not sure he was on it as they are allowed to fly alone at 14 without the program. Even still, letting a child, which a 14 yr old still is, stay in that situation on the plane is totally irresponsible.

children fly a lot more alone then just because their parents are divorced.

It is the summer...........the boy might have been flying down to visit his Grandparents who have a house near the beach or possibly a relative?

That wasn't really the point of the posting.

The point was..............why the make the beast with two backs did the Dad wait just under TWO YEARS from the date of the incident to file a lawsuit against Southwest? Why wasn't it filed immediately after the incident as well as a police report with a criminal complaint against the Cougar?

I am not doubting something may or may not have happened, but why push the law suit so far out?

could have been for the boys sake, having to go through it at 14, instead now 16, he's more mature and able to handle the court appearance. could be his lawyer said they didnt have a case, and after consulting with another recently told he had one, for the same reason i would sue, and trust me i'm NOT litigious unless it has to do with my families safety (and motorcycles ;) )

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I am not a litigious individual myself, but we are currently in the process of infancy phases of filing suit against a healthcare provider that violated HIPPA by giving out a copy of my wife's insurance card (our joint insurance) and a copy of her driver's license to an unauthorized individual. I don't think I need to type who obtained this. If you know much about HIPPA, that is some serious shit. That is OUR private information and most importantly, my wife's. I don't like my family being make the beast with two backsed with.

Isn't the statute of limitations usually 2 years on complaints like this? Convenient it just hit 2 years today..........

my keyboard just served me with paternity suit.

derby

1) how old was this older female passenger?

2) it's southwest, if there's an available seat, just get up and move to it!

that said, if it was a full plane, and said female passenger was cute and handing out good drugs, i'm sure there was at least one guy on the flight that'd swap w/ the kiddo.

1- doesn't matter

2-  still a 14yr old kid flying alone, he's respecting authority and sitting where he was told. too bad the authority wasn't looking out for him

muskrat

Are there more "witnesses" to this?  I understand the kid not wanting drugs but I can't remember ever being offended by sexual advances at 14.....if they happened at all.
