Does anyone know the color code or a company that sells this paint?  Thanks!

I've seen three different kinds of Ducati red listed. My bike is a S2R 800. Not sure if your color is the same.

Anyway, in my Owner's Manual it says:
Ducati anniversary red, code F_473.101 (PPG)

On the spray can I had made, but not yet used for my beer tray mod, it says:
     OEM code 473101,487111
     Rosso
     Manufacturer code DUC.487111 Prime
     Mix system: Deltron (DG)

I'm in Norway, so I have no idea where you will be able to buy it - still hope this is helpful to you.
BTW: why do you need it? Evil

That was probably the listing for one year, seriously.  I looked at a PPG book a couple of weeks ago and there are at least 30 Ducati "reds".
Maybe Ducpainter will come along and shed some light.

Check your frame, or your OM like Stopintime.  BMW lists their paint codes on a sticker on the frame.  I don't know if Ducati does the same.  Glasurit has a great color matching website, but I don't know if that's your best bet. I'm pretty sure any PPG product will be cheaper in the USA.

you rang?    Grin

Here's my experience with Ducati Reds.

The PPG code listed is in fact 'the code'.

The designation Deltron (DG) is for a PPG paint line commonly called 'global'.

It's not readily available everywhere in the US.

I have about 6 different formulas I use, and tint to match....I use Deltron 2000, or DBC (same thing)

I've never seen a color chip that matched the bike I was trying to paint.

1098 panels are extremely transparent as are 749/999s. You can't quite see light through them if you hold them in front of one, but the color changes.

Try it.

I'll be interested to see how your formulas compare to Porsche "Ruby Red", which is the tint I want to use on the red/white set of bodywork I want to do next.

Yeah, I actually have the whole formula print out from my local PPG dealer.

Bad news?  It's home and I'm at work.   Grin

I've always liked that style of headlight covers. I wants me some, but haven't worked up the enthusiasm to spend the money...

A thread so old I didn't even notice it was resurrection.

Though in fairness, I'm not the one who brought it back and made it hunger for brains.

 Grin  Couldn't resist....

Ducati's (2004) red looks more like a ripe tomato than a ruby....but I suppose that would be fitting for an Italian motorcycle....
