it may sound like a stupid question but i am a little stupid. i just got a new rear tire put on and a couple days later i noticed that the pinch bolt on the right hand side of the bike is only finger tight! can i just tighten it back up and not worry about it or is there some specs to tighten it to?

No pinch bolts involved with the wheel on DSSA bikes.

Chain adjust bolt maybe?

jc.cyberdemon

yeah i guess thats what it is, its located at the end of the swing arm on both sides

ok i read a little further on the forums and found my answer, next question is when i was looking closer at the swing are i noticed that on one side the tire is set to 9 notches back and the other side is closer to 10 notches back. is this going to create a problem or does it need to be exactly the same distance?

A good safety is to wire tie the adjuster plate to the swing arm so nothing gets mangled if that bolt comes loose.  Usually that bolt comes loose because it wasn't tightened after the axle was.  The torque spec is 8 Nm. (6 ft lbs).  No torque wrench?  Two fingers on a short wrench.

As far as the hash marks go, more often than not they are not accurate.  This is for all bikes, not just Ducati.  There are many ways to line up the rear wheel.  I measure from the center of the swing arm pivot to the center of the axle on each side.  Others line up the sprockets.  You might want to watch this video from Chris Kelley, a board sponsoe

You will see Chris's preferred method, lining up the sprockets.

Stop by and we'll look at it.

If i do bring it over you cant laugh at my horrid tail chop. right now its just a piece of sheet metal and electrical tape :-[. and my plate keep hitting the rear tire over larger bumps. Im still trying to save up the $200 buck to get an integrated taillight and the chop kit.
