Hey folks,

been a long time since...last time:)

Anyhow, a good firend had some extra tickets for Laguna GP this year and asked me to go! I thanked him very much for his kindness and declined his offer since my Monster is far away from being in long-ride-condition. He then said that he'd let me use his Hyper!

He has been really nice and I'm glad i have such good people around me.

So we take off Laguna-Bound and all is good, great! We take the 5 to 166 backway to Frasier Park, Serro Noreste, 33 to Taft then the 64 to Paso Robles, 12th street to th G14 up and around Lake Nascimiento to the military base then finally down to Nascimiento Rd.!

(check this road out)

...so we were enjoying the tightest road known to man an unfortunately at .2 miles from the bottom of the Road, a little dirt coming out of a bend barely touched the front brake and...SWISHH...I'm on the ground like a sack,o,potatoes...

10mph fall resulted in a slightly scratched tank cover, and shattered rear mirror/hand guard assembly (left)

Anyone have any cheap leftovers form CF upgrade?

Any help would be appreciated Smiley

Thanks
Luca

that suck but i guess i dont have a real answer for you, if he was that cool and really a good friend he would see that it wasnt your fault and shouldnt be held accountable.if you were cool and a really good friend you would pay for the damages even though you are not obligated to...either way he let you use the bike knowing that crazy shit happens all the time when your  riding and sometimes falls just make the beast with two backsing happen.

...sorry the post was incomplete Smiley now it is...

Yesw, you are correct. He is a good friend and so am I so I'm going to fix his bike. Trying to see if i can do it without spending Ducati prices for bits that many folk swap out anyways. A CF upgrade would be MUCH cheaper but its just right for me to fix his bike and let him do the upgrades when and IF he wants them.

The best I can do is point you in the direction of ducati.ms

They have a pretty big classifieds section and you might be able to find them there. Not that many hyper riders in these parts

Even though the OP said he is going to make it right and repair his friends bike, I am curious why you think he is not obligated to.  He crashed it, he pays for it. Simple as that.

+1 to what El Matador said, head over to ducati.ms and post a parts wanted thread down the in classifieds section.  I am sure someone will have what you are looking for.

That was a nice gesture on your friends part .........but If it were me in your shoes I'd ask about his Insurance situation.

My Insurance follows my bikes. May be his Insurance would pay for the parts and you could pay the deductible .

The other thing I would have done would have asked before accepting his offer, " What if something unforseen happens and I should have an accident ?"

Possibly your Insurance may cover you in this situation.

Different Insurance Companies work differently.

Check it out.

I have a Hyper and while I can't help you with the parts you need, it might help for you to know there is no "left" or "right" handguard/mirror assembly.  It is the same part(s) for both sides, just flipped over.  You should be able to pick one up from a fellow Hyper rider at Ducati.ms, as many replace the OEM handguard/mirrors.  They are also occasionally available on ebay.

Good luck, and good for you for stepping up to repair the bike.
