Rizoma Grips Shorter???
«

So now that my brake, suspension & exhaust mods are done & being on A/L on this horrible rainy winters day I was perusing the monsterparts www earlier this morning thinking about a new pair of grips when i noticed that the Rizoma grips (which look the goods) are apparently 'approx 3/8" shorter than the stock grip'. WTF!!! Am i missing something here? I am sure some of you have fitted these & will be able to let me know the pro's & con's.

That sounds like a terribly good idea. The stock grips are way too long.
I moved all my controls and grips inwards by 2cm on each side recently, both to make room for bar end mount mirrors and just so they wouldn't be so bloody far apart. Shorter grips would be cool too, as that'd make the bars narrower again.

I think Suzy has nailed it with the bar ends comment. I think that is why they are shorter ... to keep all your controls in the stock position but give yourself space for the bar ends.
I don't have bar ends so can't provide details but I do have the rizoma grips and it became an exercise in 'gap management'.
Brett are you going to venture out with us on Sunday?

I am pretty keen to get out i must say, however with the arrival of our new baby girl this week the wife is a little anxious about me getting out on the bike. Apparently a happy wife is a happy life

Oh and yes that's why you'll find the new Rizoma grips are shorter.
Bar end mirrors etc...
