As for working in the woods, Whites were considered the best, certainly the most expensive but I'm a westcoast boot guy.  Ya gotta love their web site http://www.westcoastshoe.com/wesco/home.asp  Keep em greased and they don't leak even working in the Northwest all week rain.  Stylish too, ya can wear em for dancing and impress the ladies.

Corcoran Marauder in the AF approved Sage green.

Back in the BDU days it was Corcoran All-Leather Jump boots, or Marauders in the black, both with toe polished to a mirror shine with nothing but kiwi wax, water, and a cotton ball.  ;D

I'm a big fan of Doc Martins.  Always hold up very well and extremely comfortable.

Plus I can get steel toed boots that can look like dress shoes.  That way when I go out to the bars I always have a weapon.

A quote from a friend of mine.. "You can't be no playa if you ain't got your Timboz!" (Timberlands) I've owned a few pairs of those and have liked them all.  Heard great things about Gripfast, except theyre hard to find.  I've yet to try any.  Same goes for Doc Martins.  Oh.. and I love my Sidi's.  Awesome boots! saved my ass (feet) on a couple of occasions!

I am going to agree and disagree on the quality of doc's

I got my first pair in 1996, standard brown doc martens. I still have them today and still look new when I take the time to clean them up. They are about due for a new set of soles.

I bought a pair of black ones in 2000 and they have literally disintegrated. They are still wearable, but the stitching on the top sucks.

Very disappointed in the quality of those shoes. I hope they have cleaned up their quality control since.

I've always wanted these, but can't find them locally to try on to get my size:

Don't use the steel toes in a fight bro...........always keep a glass ash tray nearby (if you are outside since you can't smoke inside anymore).

One of those suckers in the palm of your hand is a great bar weapon  [thumbsup]

Red Wings rule.

I have a pair of steel-toes I got from my last employer. I wear them everyday (still required to wear steelies in certain areas with the current gig) and they are some of the most comfortable footwear I've owned.

Stinky Wizzleteats

Don't know if you can get them in the States but RM Williams are make the beast with two backsen superb. http://www.rmwilliams.com.au/springsummer/index.html

One more question, slip ons or lace up?  I prefer slip ons as laces get all manner of crap on them which eventually ends up on your hands.
