Why are you selling?  I thought you loved it?

Why are you selling?  I thought you loved it?

Really really like?  Yes, love?  Getting there.  And it's not decided that I am going to put it up for sale, just a thought that is being kicked around in my head.

Thing is, I bought the bike as a more commute friendly ride than the Daytona that it replaced.  The riding position works for that purpose, but overall the SD isn't the best choice for a commuter due to the shortage of luggage options.  Plus, it's a pretty thirsty bike as well.  My 2V Duc routinely gets in the high 40s when calculating mpg, but the SD rarely gets better than the mid 30s.  Almost thinking that I would be better off with an ST or maybe (gasp) a 2V Multi...

Update:  Or I could always use the money from selling it to fund some ridiculous (isn't ridiculous synonymous with NCR?) motor upgrades to the SC.

At a good price too.  It's got the Akra system on it as well.  Wink

Monsterlover:
I LOVE your 950SM-R!
Having ridden one and a 990 SMR, they are amazing and incredibly fun bikes.

fastwin:
For all of the same reasons you mention, I recently gave up SBK's and even my beloved Monster for a Hyper.
While admittedly not a true SM like Monsterlover's beauty of a KTM, the "dirt bike" seating position and narrow profile provides a very different motorcycling experience (translated: F U N).
If you grew up on dirt bikes or back/wrist issues persist, I highly recommend any of the SM style bikes.
In a weird way, it's reinvigorated my passion for motorcycling.

And while the following comparison video involves a 990 SMR and a Hyper, not Monsterlover's 950, it's still fun to watch! (especially since the KTM wins in every category but they all pick the Duc to own?!)

I wouldn't call my SM-R a true supermoto...

It's big and has a twin to motivate that weight. It's not a bike to go down steps on.

Even though I have gone down steps with it Evil

I guess you're right - since going UP steps is the true test of a supermoto!
