Looks great! The rear sets really cleaned up the look and compliment the exhaust well. beautiful.

Clean bike.
Wonder how this exhaust effects power,
plans on Dyno & mapping?
I do not have plans to Dyno, I think HP gains are minor. The biggest difference I notice is the improved handling from the weight loss and the improved sound.

Thanks!
I am very happy with the way it is turning out, just a couple more things to change out and I *might* be done!

I think that is the BEST looking exhaust I have seen for the new Monster, bar none.
What is your thinking on the VOLUME of the exhaust? The youtube vid gives a pretty good idea of what it SOUNDS like, but not overall volume. In your opinion is it more "Damn, that thing sounds BAD ASS" or "Damn, that MF'er is LOUD!!"?

I'm sorry, what did you say?

Heh...it is more like, "Damn, this loud MF'er sounds bad ass!"
Seriously now, my first impression when I heard it in person was "holy shit that sounds cool", then quickly followed by "and it is LOUD". You feel the exhaust note in your chest when you stand next to the bike and rev it.
I wear ear plugs even on my 7 mile commute to work when I take this bike if that gives you any indication.

emanon,
In terms of sheer volume do you think it is similar to what I would get if I simply pulled the stock cans off mine? I understand the SOUND will be different, I am looking for a VOLUME comparison.
I REALLY want this exhaust, I just don't want to be "straight pipe embarrassingly loud" guy.

When I was doing the install, I started the bike after removing the stock silencers. This exhaust is not as loud as that, but still pretty loud. Ryanracer did talk about making a db killer insert for it, but I have not gotten a status update on the progress lately.
Funny story....one day I was getting ready for a ride and the neighbor kids were skateboarding outside my garage. My wife was on the second floor in the room right above the garage with the window open. When I started up the bike I revved it up a little to get the kids' attention. After I pulled away, my wife heard the kids talking for like 20 minutes about how loud my bike was.
If the skateboarder kids think it is obnoxious you know you are on to something!

That is pretty funny, you impress those kids you have done SOMETHING right.
I am going to pull my cans off and ride around a bit to see what I think (after the freaking snow in Dallas melts).
Thanks for your input.

Keep us updated on the underseat exhaust. I'm really interested to know if you get a lot of carbon deposits under your seat from the exhaust flow. Last thing I want is a pile of baked on ash.

I get more schmutz from the road under my seat due to the fender eliminator than I do carbon deposits from the exhaust flow.

I'm thinking about ordering this exhaust for my 796. I love the look but is it 'too loud'? I've got a nice helmet and can barely hear my stock exhaust now, but I asked the wrench about the h competition at the shop and he said those type of exhausts can be tiring on long rides and recommended LV or Arrows instead. I love the look of the hcomp box and have ridden harleys and have no prob with the noise, just sucks I can't hear one in person before ordering it. Everybody in my area with aftermarket exhaust on their ducs have termis which I am not interested in.

Looks great man. The sound clip is awesome to say the least, very unique and very mean. While I am not a huge fan of the newer monsters the look of yours with that exhaust is very nice.

honey_badger: "too loud" is a pretty subjective term, I wear earplugs when I ride and have done 300+ mile rides with this exhaust and did not find it any more "tiring" than the stock. If your "wrench" happens to sell LV and Arrow exhaust, I would question his (or her) objectivity.
My goal for an aftermarket exhaust was to be different than the masses and to be louder than stock; this exhaust meets both of those requirements nicely!
Let me know if you have any other questions.
