Going to sit outside on my rocking chair and drink me a beer in total peace and darkness. What do you guys do when the power goes out? If the kids were asleep I would be doing something completely different  [evil]

Enjoy that cold beer while it lasts!!

+1 on the generator!

How long has it been out?  When do they expect it to come back?

Have fun sleeping tonight in that South Florida heat and humidity

(yes, I am a total wimp when it comes to temperature while sleeping. Even though we have central air, I still have a window unit in our bedroom which is upstairs)

However, I was just at my parents house about a month ago and we had no power all weekend.

There is something about not having any electricity that is calming. I can't quite pinpoint it, but I agree with your assessment it can be very nice.

My Dad collects antique oil lanterns, so we sat on our screened in porch and played hearts, smoked cigars, and drank bourbon and/or wine.

Then my Dad complained about the fact that he once again is pissed he didn't buy a generator the passed 35 times the power has gone out; I think that is the funniest thing.

Only downside is they have well water, so no water at all, which makes flushing toilets a bit of an issue.

Have fun Carlos  [thumbsup]

Just got off the phone with Mario and let him in on the interworkings of the Florida Crew; he knew nothing of it.

My parents once went without power for 5 days in negative degree weather a few years ago!

Again........my Dad pregnant doged about a generator.

First purchase when I own a home not in an area with buried lines, next to the police station, etc etc.

is

a generator to keep certain things powered

then to please the masses..........

I'll buy a chainsaw  [thumbsup]

It's supposed to be back up in about an hour or 2, but that's just a guesstimate. We have 2 trucks from the power company sitting out here. I could get a generator, but the truth is the power rarely goes out here. It also gives me a chance to socialize with the neighbors.

I think a generator would be a good investment based on your location and proximity to hurricanes.

Boooooooo. Power is back up
I went 44 hours in '78 when the Mid West Blizzard came roaring through.

The snow drifted even w, the tops of the fence posts along the road to my place.

The temperture in the main part of the house got down in the low 40s.

We stayed in a room w, a woodburning stove.

It sucked bad 'cause the power came on for about 45 minutes and then went off again for another 6 hours.

We couldn't get out if we wanted to because of the depth of the snow and ....where would we go ?

It was really scary .

The National Guard had to be called in w, heavy equipment to open up some of the main roads that were drifted shut in Western ,Ohio.

Our road was opened with a Bull Dozer.

My parents have talked about that blizzard; they live in South Bend, Indiana.

I have seen the pictures from the house during that blizzard; I grew up in the house and they still live in it today when they are in town.

It is shocking and amazing to see how much snow was dumped on them based on the pictures and focal points that still exist today.

Wow.........that's all I got about that.

I don't have one either, but then again, I haven't ever done a track day.

Was thinking about buying an SV650 for my first track day and subsequent ones, but the wife got her bike instead.
