Gents,
So my putbull stand arrived yesterday.  I unwrapped it; measured the distance inbetween my swingarm chain adjusters, and set the stand as such.  I then went to put the bike up on the stand, and it slipped.  This caused the stand to go further up the swingarm than it should have (where the swingarm is wider), and the rubber pad scrapped the swingarm; thus rubbing the damn paint off  :o
Any thoughts on where I can find touch up paint ?  The Aluminum under the paint is nice and shiny...so it is clearly visible.

Damn it.

If it makes you feel any better, i kicked down my stand and when getting off the bike it fell over.  Handlebar knocked out the left side mesh in the air vent.  Easy fix though.  A slight scrape on the white paint above it too.  Sooooo stupid.

Tip: When putting down your kick stand, make sure it didn't bounce back a little before resting the bike on it.  [thumbsup]
I have no idea what you are talking about....

I've had red marks from the pit-bull guides on the 696 swingarm when it's not aligned properly - fortunately these have rubbed off without damaging the paint. I'd hoped the powder coating (which I assumed it was) was more durable than paint.

I'll be extra careful now.

Hope you get it sorted, dude. I'd be miffed, for sure.

try a sharpie....

I scratched my black HJC helmet and tried using a sharpie, but it looks like crap (almost purplish).. Although it's a gloss finish, and your swingarm is flat black, which might look ok, but I would only do that as a band-aid until you repaint it...

I always worried about dropping my bikes when putting them on stands like that. I prefer to have the little nobs that stick out to hook the stand too.

Maybe try black boot polish?

You'd need to retouch every so often, but it's fairly durable, you can probably achieve matt and shiny looks, and if it doesn't work - no harm done.

Buy a touch-up paint pen that matches.

All,
Thanks for the help and condolences - even the offer of a 695 swing-arm....What won't you guys do for each other here  ;D
In any event, Ducati isn't offering any sort of touch up paint, etc.  I think I may go over to a bodyshop that has a good paint guy and see if he can mix up something for me.  The color is truly weird.  Black in some light, absolutely grey in others.  I assure you that it isn't matt black though; as Matt Black paint (3 brands) just doesn't match.  I was going to try BBQ grill paint next - but think I'll just do it the right way.

It still is an awesome ride though :D

Thanks again,
  Steve

dag yo. didn't fall for it.

I  wonder if a 696 swing arm will even fit a 695.

Have you considered an actual band aid? but a cool one with like the power rangers or care bears. not those dumb "fleshtone" band aids.

I was going to make a sticker with the puggle pod on it and put it over the scratch.....
