Thanks all for the recommendations, esp. somegirl.  I have found that since I am not taking the wheels off, it does limit me somewhat.  All good recommendations, but I eventually ordered online (i.e. less expensive) and am having my Michelin Pilot Road 2's shipped to Subterranean Cycles in the City (http://www.subcycles.com/index.html), who happens to currently have a great deal for mounting.  Not exactly close to me, but a ride to the city is always fun.

Ciao!

Stay away from there at all costs. They've been known to sell plugged tires as new.

Seriously? Sheesh. I've gone there a couple of times. How could they pass off a used/plugged tire as new??

They put it on your bike and tell you it is new.

Oh wait, were you asking rhetorically?   Grin

Um, but wouldn't the absence of greasy surface and rubber nubbins (I love that word) be kind of, um, obvious?

Yes, if one weren't retarded.  But have you taken a look at the general population lately?
