I'm trying to download a movie from a DVD onto iTunes and then download it onto an iPod so my wife can take it to work and play it for her students through their iPods (I think that's what she wants?)

It's not working. Any helpful hints?

Thanks.  :D

If it's in iTunes, go to the videos tab and check that you have the box checked for synching videos. Also check that you have enough space available.

Are you trying to rip a DVD? I don't think you can do that with iTunes like you can a CD.

As long as it's saved as a .mov you should be able to do it.

methinks that there's probably some FBI warning at the beginning of the movie that says something against that.
not legally possible but have heard tis possible.
some DVDs are now being sold with "digital" copies that actually let you do that.  of course, they cost more too.

On my Mac I use a program called Handbrake, works well, I have only found a few DVD's it won't convert.

I have converted a number of our DVD's for use on the Wifes iPod Classic and my iPod Touch, We own the
DVD's I'm putting onto our iTunes anyway, we don't give them out to anyone, so if the copyright people
don't like that they can get bent!  [cheeky]

+1 for Handbreak (free)
Also Amerisoft Total Media Converter if you want a one stop solution (pay).

If you're using a PC, um, find a Mac.

Ripit is also very good and can be "found" for free, if so desired

Sorry, maybe I have not been clear enough.

We have a DVD. A documentry called Life in the Freezer. My wife is doing something with it for her students.

She has no idea how to do it, so asks me to do it. I have next to no idea. What I am trying to do is rip it off DVD onto iTunes & then onto the schools(her) iPod. And then she will take the iPod to school and play it through her smartboard onto each childs iPod. I don't know why she can't just use the DVD without using the iPod.  ???

Thanks also for all the suggestions.  [thumbsup]
