Terrible thing indeed.

It IS interesting how the trooper says on camera "there is no way we can catch them", but they pursue anyway (at least in this case).  Let the squids kill themselves....that car could have taken out a family in a SUV.

Alot of States/ City's have a no chase rule.  Honestly for vehicles that you know are faster than police cruisers you shouldn't chase. Like here in S. Florida cops don't chase bikes its pointless.

Mind you i don't think the cop should of chased them. But the bikers are still d-bags.

I know that most bikers are like these guys. The select few like us (most of us) ride respectfully but since most bikers are like the a-holes in the story everyone on two wheels gets a bad rep.  But riders like that get theirs in the end riding like that has one end result. A dirt nap.
I live vicariously thru myself......

I hear that they can pit a bike here in OH.  Now, how f'd up is that ?

(Like someone mentioned below, i don't think we have the whole true story here so I tend not to believe the bikers portrayal).
620M 2004 Dark i.e.; ~ 57K miles (all me);  Looking to swap out engine now.
Triumph Speed Triple 2006 (now ~ 44K miles bought @ 4K miles on 04/2010)
Honda Grom 2015 ~ 3500miles so far.  Love this lil bike

...and now it is heating up. This should be interesting...eyewitnesses contradicting the Trooper's story.

Too bad he didn't have a dash cam...would help catch the bikers, as well as confirm or contradict his version of events.

...on a side note, the WSP's "rolling slow-down" manuever mentioned in the article is dangerous. I've seen it in person (in my car) and it really is ridiculous when they use it for no real reason, other than they feel traffic should be moving slower.

Please tell me you do not really believe this?  Most riders are dirt bags and only a few of us ride respectably?

I ride A LOT.  I run into bikers all over the country FROM all over the country.

Vast majority are great guys and gals and ride respectably.  The dirt bags are definitely in the 1% category.

You can Google the actual acronym, but it is the maneuver where the squad nudges into the fender or quarter or side of another motor vehicle to literally spin it out of control.  Not sure if they still do it here in MN, but my brother got this treatment back in the early 80's.  And he prolly deserved it, as much as it sucks.

The Kawi forums have some 'first hand" posters. The guys says that the LEO was trying to push the bikes and crashed on his own. The people taunting him were people that he tried to push while chasing the guys that were speeding.

Do people in Europe suck less...

or just in a different language?

honestly, yeah a bit less prevalent of an issue

people tend to keep to themselves, but have a sense of community and responsibility to others as well

After living in Europe for almost eight years, I will agree one hundred percent with Jerry on this one.  Most people over there, in western Europe anyhow, have a much more social mindset than you will find in your average American.  It is not uncommon for people to actually pause and consider how their actions might effect the lives of others and then act accordingly...

God I miss it over there...
