Swingarm Fit Question
«
on:
August 13, 2010, 05:12:58 PM »
I have been looking around for an affordable and worthwhile winter project for my bike (03 620), and have received some good responses from the board. This time my question is quick.
Will the SSS from a S2r1000 fit onto the 620 with no cutting/boring involved. I found a good deal on a swingarm, shock, rotor, and sprocket and am really tempted to pull the trigger on it. I know that I will have to replace the wheel, but that was on the list of future mods anyways.
Thanks in advance

You'll need:
eccentric
axle
520 sprocket (S2R 800)
custom exhaust set-up (interference issues) [maybe an S2R800 set-up will fit?...IDK]
caliper hanger
brake line
sprocket carrier
wheel & sprocket nuts/spacers
swing arm shims
new front wheel if you want them to match
.....
.....
I'm sure there's more...
If you have stock rear sets, it'll look like shit with a SSSA, if it'll even fit...
Not too sure if your swing arm shaft will work with the SSSA. If you want to use the S*R rear sets, you'll need it.
Also the speedo pick up is different...5 triggers vs 6 triggers, so your speedo WILL be off.
and...
I'm sure there's more...

And that is why my first step should always be to ask the experts here. Thanks for the info, it seems that there is very little else I can do to my bike without spending more than the cost of a used 1000.

Fantastic list DARKSTAR! You've nailed it all, minus 3 minor points (only posting for future 'search' function users): 1) the s*r bikes have 4 pulses per rotation of the rr wheel. 2) You will need the s*r pivot shaft & rr sets. 3) Exhaust ports for the small case engines are in the same position up to & including the 695 (so any 600, 750, 620, 800 or 695 exhaust will swap onto the motor so long as it fits through the swingarm and the chassis).
