nope, opposite, less klms, less points for that category... last year an 02 999 with nearly 50'000klm on the clock won the 749/999 class, had a couple of tasteful mods, but you could eat your dinner off the engine,... everywhere i looked it was spotless, even inside the fairings.. and every cable tie was in place, and everything else was spot on.. he even rode it up from wollongong for the day.. and it beat a very very nice 05/06 999 with about 20k on the clock, not just for mileage, but everything about it.. there have been controversial judgings in the past, but they changed the rules for the belt drive bikes a couple of years ago to allow for tasteful mods by owners, as a lot of the newer bikes have a lot of plastic, unlike the old bikes which were metal and chrome etc... it is a very fair judging criteria...

So your saying that the wankers that trailer their 0 milage bikes get the pick?

I've been a few times myself but have never seen a Brio or a Cruiser.

Ahmmm! did I miss something  Huh?. Check out "calling gold coast members thread"

P.S> Was that you at the Manheim Fowles Auction the other week?

Yes! You should have woke me up. Damaged bikes just go for way too much.

Start Thread Jack!

When I was leaving I saw a famliar face and asked myself that famous question "Where the Faark do I know that guy from?" It dawned on me about 15mins later  Roll Eyes.
Yes, some of the sales were a joke. I was there checking out the MV's. I cant believe someone paid $10.5k for the F4  Huh? you can get a schmik F4 1000 with bling for $16k.
I noticed the MV 910r Brute that sold for $7.5k was on ebay the next day and sold there a week later for $9.9k. There is either one born every minute or it was a "Vendor Bid" on ebay Huh?
The 1100s Hyper for $7500 was a decent buy.

The 749/999 category was judged by me (Mike of Desmo Clinic) last year.  The judging criteria developed by DOCNSW Committee is quite clearly stacked in favour of the owner who rides and does the kilometers, but takes care of their bike.  The bikes are not penalised for tastful mods (belt drive) whereas the bevels are all about originality, again rewards the owner who does the km's and maintains and looks after their bike.  Where it gets murky with the bevels is a faithful restoration with few km's vs an original bike with high km's in well worn condition.  This is the judges dilema...

Sporting bevels is without doubt the toughest category to judge - very passionate and faithful owners...

Yea saw the yellow 749 on fleabay and checked the sellers other items and low & behold half the auctions bikes were for sale. I was interested in the Mvs too but when I checked out the bikes I saw the forks were rusty which would make the bikes unfeasable for the cost they sold for. Any way found a top bike so forget the write offs.
