Well someone had to get the ball rolling on this one .

So throw some dates up and then we can vote on the day
that suits the majority
And add your name to the list.
Here is the ride route borrowed from DOCNSW

Unless someone has a better plan

Uh-oh ... what's going on here?

« Reply #1 on: August 17, 2010, 04:05:43 PM »

To quote myself (twice):

On rotation should be the first Saturday in October ... but I would think that will be the long weekend and double demerits.

Perhaps Saturday 25th September (yes 2010)? I'm sure that date clashes with something important ... but I'm sure you will all let me know soon enough.

Well I mentioned the next ride in the thread about yesterday's ride but thought this would be a more appropriate place. This one (as usual) will need a bit of input. My take on things at the moment:

. The next ride would/should be a Saturday (per rotation policy)
. First weekend of October (two months) is the long weekend (double demerit)
. Long weekend is the middle weekend of school holidays so weekends each side are also within school holiday period
. Weekend following school holidays is MotoGP weekend
. So how about before the school holidays? This means that it won't be as long before the next big group ride Grin

How does Saturday 18th September sound?

... which is a Ducati supported ride day at the Creek
... and to take up on Matty's point, this is the day before the DOC Concours

Just so you know.

either day sounds good to me

looking at the map

the road from wisemans out to st albans is a fairly nice good road now all tarred , slightly bumpy in spots when i went out there the other day but a good fang road as pretty good visibility and buckleys chance of police  waytogo

the return on the other side of the river is shithouse as per the notes

Find a shady spot to park the bike and grab a locally brewed beer and a snack at the historic St Albans Pub. Returning to Wisemans Pub via Settlers Road which is gravel and potholes, alternativly return via Webbs Creek ferry staying on the tar. Turn left from the pub into Wharf Street.

so either take the ferry to st albans come back across same ferry and then across the other ferry and on to spencer etc

or make it 4 ferries and dont go to st albans

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

I'm good for 18th September.  2nd October is no good though, as I'll be in the US.

It is a democratic decision so lets throw some other dates up there.
I have a lot on in September and will be away in early skiing and late in Indonesia traveling
so how about early October as an alternative?
Or how about late August ??

October is motogp at phillip island so that's no good for us. Plus the September date is no good because I will be finishing night shift and we don't wanna go through that again.  Roll Eyes

Dez, leave the date, if people can make it they can make it - this is one situation where history has proven that democracy does not work!

I agree! Hell, go on the 18th with whoever turns up and then we can always organise another in October!  waytogo

Very true, it is best to pick a date and say we're going.
Whoever can make it, can make it. As soon as there is a range of dates it gets complicated.

So let's say the 18th is it and those who can get there will, otherwise there is always the next one.
Now that there is a bigger group of people I think we might find more people out more often.

My 2c's worth.
