Ive been jizzing over one for a while. can anyone tell me how the ergos the bike is compared to the monster? it looks way more comfortable for 2 up riding, and sportier for weekend + track rides.

Just fancying the idea of having a 1000SS instead of a monster. they look like such sweet bikes!!!

They are closer to superbike ergos than Monsters. Clip ons are stock. More comfort for the passenger on one of those than a superbike.

the first thing i would change on that is the black lower part would become the exhaust. I don't like the high sbk copy. it needs to be more unique.

Another local DMFer (that also works for AMS) is building up an air cooled motor (900cc I think...) and already has a Tamburini rolling frame to mount it in. Can't remember if it's a 916, 996 or 998 but I guess it doesn't really matter. Sounds like a neat project. Can't wait to see it. [moto]

There are a few 90's era 900 Supersports running around this area. Maybe one of them will chime in. They are a good bang for the buck.

I had a Terblanche 750 SS as a trackbike.

They crash well and if you stay in the smaller displacements they are cheap on fuel and tires.

They are a better choice for the track than the Monster IMO, but have much more aggressive riding position so if it will be your street bike too...

stick with the Monster.

That is one super cool sled! All the groovy SBK look and running gear but with 2 valve air cooled motor. Wonder if Ducati ever seriously considered a bike like that? Yeah, I know all about the full fairing Supersports... but a DS1000 motored SBK. Nah.... I'm holding out for the Supermono street bike!!! [moto]

The mosnters awesome for the street but it SUCKS for 2 up riding. I have another thread about a new seat but ultimately my monster cannot carry anything.

I would trade in some street comfort if i could get some more passenger comfort.  I already have clip ons so its not like the SS would be that much worst. As long as it isnt SBK bad because thats pretty bad.

I have an SS for the track. Have never ridden it on the street.

The local shop has a '95 900SS for $4k

I got my 2000 900SS for 4k.  The older ones aren't expensive ~

ideally, id get a 1000SS.

but theres a lot of 2000 900ss thats are going for 4k like you said. Im just wondering if it would be worth it for me to trade my monster for one. ive never had a chance to ride one.
