696 gas mileage!?

If he's still doing break-in, the motor is still pretty tight.
It should improve a bit with some miles.

A 44mpg S4R is about the thriftiest I've heard of, I recall high 30's as more of the norm for S4R.

Though not a S4R, but Shadawchaser was getting about the same mileage out of his S4Rs (during very spirited riding) and his big rig.

i've gotten as high as 60 from my S4, so maybe someguy isn't crazy

I've been mainly doing mixed city/highway/traffic jam riding on my 696. First tank I got 52.8 mpg. Second tank I got 54.8.

I've never heard him claim that...maybe you are the crazy one.

I bet if you kept it at 55mph in 5th or 6th you could get close to 60 mpg from just about any bike but what fun is that
