I have to watch that and History of the World.

I watched both as a kid and probably missed half the jokes.

There's a complete Mel Brooks set that includes both. The wife bought it for me last year.

while I love Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles and Airplane are the pair that get debated as best comedies ever in my book.

One of my all time favorite movies... right next to Dr. Strangelove!! When I went to college in Austin at the University of TX in the early 70s Blazing Saddles literally was showing at night at different campus auditoriums for a dollar at least once or twice a week. Me and a group of regulars would grab some tex-mex and a couple pitchers of beer for dinner and stagger over to campus for the show every week or two. No telling how many times I've watched it.

Fast forward to 2005. My wife got me the DVD as a Christmas present/stocking stuffer. She had never seen it so one night I play it and she lasted maybe ten minutes before saying "this isn't funny at all" and left the room. [bang] Proof again that some women are born without the humor gene. None what so ever. Oh yeah, she also hates the Three Stooges. Need anymore proof? [laugh] [laugh]
