Let's open things up to those of you that know someone with one.

Do they like it?

Id post on the ktm board but i know all of you a lot better and them not so much.

It's not knowing who's full of shit and who isn't.

525exc here.  Nothing much to compare it to, tits my first dirtbike.  It's been a trouble-free blast so far!

I'm not really wanting this for dirt...

I want street wheels and rubber on it :D

Lotsa $$$ for those.

I was offered the 530 with both street and dirt rollers, ktm unobtanium triples, pipe etc for $5k by one of the owners of the local ktm dealer...

Low miles/ hrs too.

I think a 690 would run me more...

Adjusting the valves every 20 hours and changing the oil in half the time is a pain....which is why I no longer bother putting the SM setup on my 525.
