The project is complete.  Much thanks to bergdoerfer for the core job and paint / polish job on the cans.  Also thanks to Jeff at Monsterparts for getting me the mid-pipes and advice during the install.  This has made a HUGE difference in the sound and appearance of my Duc.

Jeff did the mid-pipes finish in the same position as the pipes that exit the udder so that the standard link pipes to the high level cans fitted with-out any problems, your the bike look's the "DOG'S"... [bow_down] [thumbsup]

Geoofduc, Everything lined up just fine in the end.  I hooked up the mid-pipes first and getting the mid-pipes onto the rear header pipe was a pain and took a LOT of wrestling. My next issue was getting the lamda sensor routed.  The lamda port is on the opposite side with the marving pipe, so I had to pull the sensor wire out of the spaghetti tangled mess of wires it was originally in and then re-route it as best I could.  Once I had everything in place I tightened it all down and let the pipes "burn in" real well.

Next came the cored cans.  They were pretty simple. The marving mid-pipes came out at exactly the same spot, so it was just a matter of hooking the S pipes (down pipes) back to the cans and lining it all up.  This was nerve-racking because I didn't want to scratch the awesome finish bergdoerfer managed to get on the cans.  After a bit of fiddling all was well and I fired it up to "burn in" the paint on the cans.  It sounds awesome!

My original plan was to ceramic coat the marving mid-pipe and the S pipes in flat black, but I kinda like the way it looks now with a bit of bronzed pipe, the flat black, and the polished tips.  I have an extra stock exhaust thanks to another great forum member, so I might get those S pipes ceramic coated and just see what I like best. If I like the black I could later send off the mid-pipes.

I don't have a video camera, so I'll have to try and borrow one to get a video posted for you. Maybe over the weekend.

Many thanks again to bergdoerfer and Jeff from Monsterparts!   [thumbsup]

Bergdoefer, Thanks for the props!  I'll work on that sound clip.  The thing about sound clips though is they never do exhausts justice because it's hard to judge volume. The new set-up does sound a lot deeper than before and of course it is a LOT louder.  It almost drowns out the dry clutch.  I guess now I need an open clutch cover to get the clack clack back.   [moto]
